I want to see this! I might do it Friday. I'm a bit afraid I've pretty much seen the movie now that I've seen the trailer though.

I share that fear paul
Rise of the Planet of the Apes...8/10. Good storyline and nice flick..
Annabelle - just give me your money instead. (note, I saw it for free so I lost nothing other than my time). Not even remotely scary, just plain terrible, and completely predictable.

LOL, so IPD didn't even see an ad for Nightcrawler then and assumed it's a comic book movie? Wow.
Haha, I wish that was the story. :D What he's mad about...that it's called Nightcrawler and not about Kurt Wagner(Nightcrawler in Marvel Comics). Right...
Jeremy
I know exactly what "nightcrawler" is about. I'd never watch it in a million years--regardless of what they called it. The fact that it's dubbed a name that rightfully belongs in the marvel universe--is insult upon injury. It's like naming a movie "avatar" that's about online personalities people adopt. Or calling a movie "star trek" when it's a documentary about man pursuing a manned mission to mars. no. fucking. thank you.
The movie name doesn't "rightfully belong" to anything. Get the sand out of your vagina.
A 3/s isn't a DSM. Nightcrawler refers to sooooo many different things and is not just about a Marvel character. When I hear nightcrawler the first thing that pops into my head is a fishing worm.
Again, get the sand out of your vag.
but the movie isn't about fishing worms either....
And I am not being a whiny little pussy about the name of the movie like you. It's a movie for God's sake. The name of the movie fits the premise of the movie. Get over it.
I can't help but think if Carlos(IPD assuming I got that right) was as passionate about something like world hunger, the national debt or AIDS as he is about movie titles and characters no one would be hungry ever, we wouldn't owe the Chinese Vermont and we wouldn't need to worry about wearing the AIDS ribbon at an AIDS walk.
Wait, we only owe China Vermont? I say we just let them have it then... LOL
IPDs name isn't actually Carlos, j2k4 just calls him that because he prefers not to have his real name used.
John Wick 9/10
Keanu Reeves elevated what Liam Neeson does in Taken to a higher level.
John Leguizamo did an interview and he mentioned that the movie was done by former stuntmen with roots back to the Matrix and in his opinion, John Wick is probably the best action movie in recent memory. You will not be disappointed when you see it.
I've been watching John Wick related videos on youtube and in one of the cast interview, one of the film makers makes a comment on John Wick killing 84 people in the course of the film. For me, it wasn't the sheer number, but the manner in which he did it. Like a surgeon with precision skills, John Wick just kept rolling up the kill meter.
watched JCVD the other day. pretty good actually. total divergent from his typical films. 7/10. got bad reviews but probably just because of who it is and critics are massive snobs.
bad grandpa...2/10...
i didn't wanna watch it but with buddies around I didn't have the option of turning it off either...
Alien 3000. 10/10 for unintentional hilarity, 1/10 for plot. Fantastically awful B movie that deserves the Mystery Science Theater 3000 treatment. Get a bunch of friends together and watch and laugh at the awful special effects, plot holes, inconsistencies and awful acting.
Brain Dead. 6/10. Peter Jackson movie from the 80s. Extremely gory (don't recommend eating anything with a red sauce.) Its a comedy/horror movie that has some bad acting and special effects, but still a good time.
The Hobbit: Battle of Five Armies. 7.5/10.
It lacks in the level of grandeur we know from the LOTR series. But then, The Hobbit never was on the same scale. For its own series, not a bad way to go out.
Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1. 7/10.
Kinda irked they split this into two movies. In any case, it works as a decent setup. The finale ought to be worthwhile.
Interstellar. 8/10.
It's long. It's intriguing. Even in its scientific interpretations, it is quite entertaining.
i would have considered interstellar. but then i saw you gave hunger games 7/10, and i have to question your judgment...and possibly sanity.
You go ahead and do that if you feel you must. :)
Hunger Game movies are OK, they are getting too greedy by stretching them out so long though.
I guess my taste differs from what Hollywood likes to shell out perpetually. I don't like formulaic & pedantic drivel...at least not unless the movie is SUPPOSED to be about pedantic drivel (slapstick comedies).
I just could not shake the feeling that Hunger Games--as a franchise--takes itself WAY too seriously.
Doesn't mean you have to and it's not bad if you don't watch several movies like it. Then it just becomes it's own thing.
I just sit back and enjoy the moving pictures and sounds. I don't try and over analyze things or compare it to older stuff. It is what it is. Movies are entertainment and if I am so entertained then it's a success.
^
Totally agree. All I care about is if I am entertained. That's why I generally ignore critics. For example, Drive was supposed to be awesome, turns out it's the worst movie I've ever seen.
So disappointed to hear via my little brother the last HOBBIT movie sucks was so hoping that it would be EPIC...:(
It needed twice as much dragon and 10x less emo dwarf syndrome. There were half a dozen scenes that were pointless and childish. The fact that the orcs were ALL cgi finally got to me.
