Are there specific years to look for? I've searched on the other forum with no luck.

With all this talk of the excessive IM, I'm ready to pull the trigger on it..! haha..:D
We should get one made for VD testing and if it goes well, it wont be so hard to pull the trigger.
Well, those are valuable questions to help people figure out if they want it. I think that because we've seen so few people do IMs before, and those do generally say that it was 1k+ so it scares most other people off from making an investment. In truth, this platform is so backwards sometimes it's unreal. I'd say that there are probably a multitude of owners who would stand to gain 60+awhp from an IM, which is basically $10/hp for the Xcessive when it's not on GB. That's a ratio that almost no other mod can touch. Even at $600 for 20hp for a mostly stock car, that's still what, $30/hp? That's about on par with most other major power gains like turbos or head work. Although for a stock or mostly stock car I think most would probably be better suited by that manifold of Tufftr's.

To my knowledge those guys are just up the street from Coopkill. I would think he could tune his car with the factory manifold, then put on an Xcessive and see what the VD says(preferably with the Q45, but I understand doing it without if it involves having to mod stuff that he may not want to)
In truth, 400 for the Xcessive is a hell of deal. Just proof enough of why there are not a lot of them sold for the platform. I agree with shortening the runners slightly, I'd like to see the power shift over about 1000rpms personally. A max at around 6500 would be ideal for me with stock cams, and certainly still tolerable even if I upgrade to 272s down the road. At the very least, better than stock.
Found a picture of Jesse's IM...looks to have a beefy sized TB and stock length runners. The car made a ton of power but tq seemed to peak near 5000rpms..seems like he did it mostly for the larger TB..??

I found a plenum on eBay which looks similar...the runners seem to have more girth..but they retain the same long length..its listed for 700+...I'm sure he might accept an offer of 500...it says rear plugs are accessible so it may be shorter??

What kind of gains did erron get with his ebay IM? He got the other one available on ebay, right?

I am positive jrink's is a Q45 TB. Almost sure his mani is DR.
Some supra results. Stock cams (which is rare!), big turbo, low boost.....

Perfect for td05 and up guys. Not sure on td04. Probably worth it for big td04s to get some more revs. So bigger plenum and runner length that would be similar to our stock lower. Zesty style is looking good for my setup if plenum shape and size could be made well.
