The worst effect of Facebook on the car community is the fact that it's destroying car forums. Several forums have already shut off the lights, along with their searchable data bases. Facebook is a horrible site to have technical discussions, and it's not search friendly.
If Facebook (and even Myspace) was used for what it was originally intended to be used for (keeping in contact with friends and getting laid) they would be great, but alas the de-evolution continues.
What I don't get is why MySpace fell off the earth, and was replaced by the shittiest interface on earth. Facebook is mostly bumper sticker type posts with fake quotes, and pictures of stuff I don't give .000001 shits about.

If there's any bright side to social media, it's that it serves as a lasting testament to proof that western culture cares more for what people wore to the latest awards ceremonies, unproven theories about climate change & about the daily lives of non-celebrity-celebrities...than about genocide, terrorism, properly postured geopolitical strategy or fiscal responsibility and prudence within their own governments.
when older crowd enters that's usually when younger crowd leaves. It becomes uncool and the whole thing collapses.
it's like... kind of facepalm when your moms friend or relatives 2x or more your age wants to befriend you on facebook. Relatives I see on family gatherings, that's enough... When that happems, that's when younger crowd moves to alternative shit like instagram or whatever.
I have nothing against people older than me but know your limitations. I wouldn't add a 15 year old girl, just as 60 year old shouldn't me.
That's the thing though, there are a ton of "older" people on Facebook, yet the younger crowd still continues to grow. My parents are both 54. My mom has been on Facebook for a few years, and apparently my dad made an account just within the last week or so.Quote:
