This, and it was better than the last H/G. 6/7-10

Nobody has said a peep about TMNT on fb except they "are going to see it" so I take it as the usual Michael bay movie? Wait till DVD?
Guardians - Great movie. IMO one of the top four from Marvel(The other 3 being Iron Man 1, Cap 2, Avengers)
Lucy - Weird movie. Good movie but weird. The 1st half is what you expect from the commercials. The ending takes a page from 2001 a Space Odyssey and heads out in to left field. That said if you are ok with movies that do that you'll probably like it.
Nothing wrong with 2001....you're just expected to be on PCP when you watch it.
somebody want to give me the cliffs on 2001? All I know is guy is in space with a computer and it tries to kill him.
Expendables 3: 8.5/10
I thought it was great, I'd probably buy it if I owned a DVD player. Of course you can't take the movie too seriously and I don't think you're meant to. The action and plot are generally what you can expect, and there's some good laughs to be had, especially with them all making fun of themselves. I thought it was awesome seeing all those guys in one movie, even though most can't act I'd say it's definitely worth watching.
Ugh, Expendables... That said the previews for E3 did look interesting... Do I need to watch the 2nd one? I watched the first one and wanted my time back lol. The only movie I've seen that was worse was Driver.
As for my recent movies:
Lucy - I'll give it 8/10. It was very interesting and the ending blew my mind lol. I wasn't expecting it to be like that but still enjoyed it very much. I've never left the movie theater thinking that hard lol.
Hercules: 8/10. Very interesting and I love that they present it in a different way than you would think when you're going to see a movie about a Greek Demi-God. Plus, I love Dwayne Johnson in just about anything.
Guardians of the Galaxy: 10/10. Excellent. I've seen it twice already, probably will see it more. And I'm not the kind of guy that re-watches movies. It's top 5 for my favorite movies.
Guardians of the Galaxy I'll give 8.5/10. Maybe it's because I'm foreign to the universe these characters were drawn from. Enjoyable watch, certainly. 10/10 would be pushing it though. 10/10 are movies like "The Sting".
I debated about whether it was truly worth 10 and ultimately decided it was enjoyable enough for me that it was. It's a movie that I can watch over and over and it doesn't get old. I'm sure I'm not as critical as a lot of people though. I enjoyed it enough that I will buy it and probably watch it several more times, what else could I want from a movie?
Good. I don't want to take the chance on the 2nd one, nothing there really interested me after the disappointment of the first one.
If you didn't like the 1st one, you won't like the 2nd one, and I'd venture that you won't like the 3rd one.
I enjoyed JCVD's role more. Especially the fight scene.
The Expendables movies are fan-damn-tastic and give me exactaly what I wanted and expected to get.
Exp. 3 is on m list to watch.
Did go watch Guardians of the Galaxy in theaters though. Solid 9/10. A wee bit predictable but I thought it did a great job alternating between emotional and comedy moments with excellent pacing and character development. Not wild about the Howard he duck cameo after the credits..ugh. Who reallllly thought that deserved a remake.
From what I have read the howard bit at the end was just for fun. Their is no stated intention of a remake.
Saw Edge of Tomorrow last week. 6/10 Not bad for Groundhog Day set during war time.
Thank goodness.
So I'm watching the original Alien movie. At the part where the first guy gets killed by the alien. That room he's in. Why is it wet/raining inside of a space ship? What the hell is that about?
I'm assuming it's some sort of condensation room, or maybe there's a boiler or some other system which generates humidity.
From IMDB
Quote:
Why was it raining in the cargo bay?
It was condensation. Down near Brett it appeared quite hot, as he was sweating. Since heat rises, it could have caused some frost or ice to melt high up on the ceiling. Also, the giant lights that Brett looked up at could have given off a lot of heat.
It rained in the Astrodome before. LOL
The Equalizer--6.5/10
meh...guy working at a home depot executes the whole russian drug cartel single handedly without the use of a gun, etc...(except towards the end)...too much real life for me..
Noah - 6/10
It seemed to be some excellent script interweaved into a bunch of bullshit left over from The Transformers. The plot danced all over the place from good to ridiculous. There seemed to be three decent movies put together to create a single missed the mark failure. The story had no development/follow through.
Premis - 8/10 (could have been great)
Execution - 1/10
Acting - 7/10
Flow - 1/10
Meh, Wife liked it...
Yeah, well they refused to use my version of the autobiographical screenplay...so that's what you get. :)
-Terms and Conditions may apply: 10/10
-Gone Girl: 6/10 - it knows it's not basic instinct and yet it still tries. Paul Verhoeven's work from 1992 is still sublime by comparison.
Fury - 9/10
So I finally went to the movie theater. Was talking to a friend at work and mentioned wanting to see it. He said he wanted to see it too, but didn't want to go by himself so we made tentative plans to go this afternoon/evening.
Anyway, the movie is exactly what you expect. Lots of battles, killing, etc. There was one "slow" part to the movie but it didn't take away from the movie, it added to it in my opinion. Definitely worth the watch. Glad I saw it.
Non-Stop. 7/10
nothing spectacular but pretty good. I got exactaly what I was expecting. decent twist at the end but it was kinda forced.
Monuments Men. 8/10
incredibly slow. but I didn't mind. I really liked it for some reason. I can't quite place it.
I want to see this too. but I haven't been to the movies in so long and there's so many things that I want to see. ugh.
Nightcrawler - 9/10 - was great if you want to hate a creepy main character. Go see it.
Her. I don't know if this was a great movie or just flat out depressing. so it's either a 2 or an 8.
Rush. Solid 8 all day. it just seemed a little to short.
haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, ugh.
Transformers: Age of Extinction - Worst of the 4.
The Signal - Odd mind trip of a movie. I'll give it a 7
