Probably a lot better than a bunch of other sports or supercars. It has fully adjustable Ohlins shocks, I am sure they are fully developed and have a lot of R&D in them. I bet you could get softer springs installed if you wanted. The cars are fully customizable, they spend a lot of hours with the individual customer building their car.Quote:

There is a very good reason. I also won't explain it because it won't make sense to your typical consumer. You know the consumer, "I don't care that it doesn't perform as well, as long as.........." Christian doesn't cater to those people.
i'd love to hear it. because frankly, i think that as technology progreses, the need for old-style technology decreases more and more. so unless there's a significant weight penalty, i'm not really understanding the reason why such a system--even if not efficient in current form--couldn't be adapted/improved by konigeseggesgeggegeg.Quote:

Magnaride shocks work by changing the viscosity of the fluid, that is the only thing it can do. For the sake of simplicity I'll just use the valving type used in Konigseggegegegegegegeg for my discussion: Shim stack valve monotube damper. Shim stack valves are naturally velocity sensitive and are basically infinity tunable. Adding an external res increases fluid capacity and allows you to separate the compression valve stack from the rebound stack without using the typical base valve setup. I will skip bypass valve adjustments here, it's a discussion worthy of it's own entire thread. I'll just say they allow you to adjust the shocks without revalving.
Anyways, to the meat. Changing the viscosity changes how the valving reacts to ALL inputs. If the valve stack is tuned for the car at one viscosity (read as, it works as it should), changing the viscosity alone changes ALL the factors in damper tuning, such as nose force, the knee, ect. Problem is, 90% of the time the resulting damping curve is suboptimal for, well, anything. It's basically like taking a nonlinear setup and applying a linear adjustment to it to try and get it to work in all conditions. I'm tired of typing so I'll close with this: magnaride is a cheap way of getting some benefits of an adjustable suspension by loosing the ability to be optimized and gaining the ability to adjust very quickly. It's technically no better than bypass adjusters such as Tein's EDFC and our ECS struts, but faster. There is a couple systems that are in fact better than an optimized shim stack valve IMO, Bose suspension (both air sprung and electro-coil sprung) comes to mind as a consumer grade product, Cruat hydraulic interconnected suspension is a phenomenal race/performace grade suspension.
As long as a spring is used to support the car, there won't be a real advancement in damping technology because what we have is pretty much optimal for damping a sprung system. Everything that diverts from optimal is a compromise.
Thx for the wisdom ABM. That actually makes a lot of sense. That said, with the advancements in space-age materials as of late, I wouldn't think it would be impossible to create a spring with some type of shape memory that could be intensified or weakened by an electric field--thereby instantly varying spring rate based on computer input.
But I'm not an engineer, so....
