Long story short, a student drove to school and as he went to retrieve his bookbag from the trunk he realized he had forgotten his rifle in the trunk of his car from going hunting the previous afternoon. He went straight to the office, handed his keys to the principal, explained to him what had happened and asked if he could call his dad to come retrieve the rifle.
Well, the kid got suspended from school, and cannot drive to school for 30 days due to his honesty. They wouldn't even let him drive his car off of school property and had his parents retrieve the car.
Of course the school is going to scream "zero tolerance", but why is no line between zero tolerance and common sense?
