IDK, we are hoping our new kitten will be this size (came from the same breeder as this cat). And they are really dog like, except not as needy. But we have three dogs as well.

EDIT - have to laugh at the notion of a dog being more needy than a cat. Dogs tend to lay around and do much of nothing unless provoked. Cats? Always banging into your legs wanting petted, meowing like they're passing a boulder through their urinary tract, knocking shit off and over. I do not care for cats much, but they all absolutely love me. Beats me...

When I say needy, I mean they don't NEED you around. You can easily leave a cat alone for a few days as long as you have a decent size litter box and food bowl. You cannot do that with a dog. We actually got lucky with our cats, none of them are assholes. But I have been around asshole cats, and I just wanted to choke the shit out of them. Think it all depends on the owners.

Cats have the personality of a rock. A creature that occasionally pops out of hiding to shit in a box inside the house, nah. I'll take a companion that goes for walks, listens, and shows at a sense of character over a creature that's naturally prone to living as a social loner. I'd get a cat if I lived on a farm to keep away mice, that's it. Otherwise, they're as useless as their owner's social complex.

Damn, you all have had the worst cat experiences lol. I've been around some mean ass dogs, but I don't consider all dogs to be mean.
