I think a touring session is a great idea to draw more people in.
I think we'd have to look at the people who normally run the road course, would they be able to pay extra for the full course, or would the higher cost make some people decide against running road course. If the full course is only $20-40 more per person, I think most people would be in, but if it's $100 or more higher, some people who only run road course for the fun of it, may not be willing to pay that much.
I'm not sure why they're charging more for the whole track...or at least why it should be any more than a little bit more expensive.
Their only extra cost is a few extra corner workers and I know at some tracks they're volunteers.
The full track was awesome. I'm sure the west half alone would be pretty fun as well, but it does take out the long straights. Here are 2 of my 3 videos from the full 3.2 miles - 20 minute sessions.

It really is a fun and a bit challenging course, and it's big. I honestly never saw Von during our hot-lap sessions.

I think anyone going to NG15 needs to drive on this track, it's just that nice of a track. And offering a Touring session would let this happen for those who don't want to run full speed on the track. Even just cruising at parade lap speeds will be a load of fun for people and it sounds like we have more than enough track time this year to work in an extra group.
Terry, the way this track is set up, they could rent out the east portion separately. I'm sure that's why there's a substantial extra cost. It works out to 33% more to rent then entire thing vs. just the west track. I've never dealt with a track that had volunteers for corner workers, and I know these guys aren't. It's a pretty substantial number of them for this one, too, because of the sheer size and number of turns.
Levi is right... I'll post tonight with my thoughts about having been on the track. EVERYONE needs to get on this track at some level. Even I want to run on it. It's amazing. Fun, challenging, exciting, you name it. I promise it'll be the highlight of your week at NG15.
Even Beth might be interested in a leisure lap.
Oh, another question, is there race fuel pumps on site like there was in Pittsburgh?
Jason
They plan to have race gas on site at NCM by the time of the NG.
