Anyone with ECU connections problems should definitely get this update, it worked for one person who tested it. Now he can fully rev the engine without disconnects, or garbage.
Great News!! I was just about to ping you about the issues I am still having. I'll try to get this update installed tomorrow and test it out. Will let you know.
Went to do the update tonight and I seemed to have lost the only null modem cable I had. I have serial and USB to serial adapters. But nothing that will go female to female.... So I have to order another adapter in order to flash the new update.
Is there a reason in this day we are still using old cables such as serial cables and not something more modern like USB? Really frustrating to have to go and dig out cables used 10-15 ago years or worse have to locate and buy them to work with new items such as these. As of now I'll be down for a week or so waiting on a new cable to show up.
The newer versions of the LCDBC can be updated with a simple USB-serial cable through the second serial port.

USB is super complex vs serial, that is why serial will never die completely. If I were to switch the second serial port to USB, it would raise the price $25-$30. Having a second serial port allows me to add second product (TFT Datalogger) to the LCDBC. If it were USB, it would not be possible to add that in.
As Unlogic has stated, you should be using a USB-to-serial adapter on the second serial port for flashing, and have no need for a null-modem cable. Only v2.xx and older LCDBC units were flashed on the first serial port, and thus a null-modem cable.

If the LCDBC is powering additional sensors (ie +5V DC), it will create more heat on the voltage regulator. So for this reason, the current LCDBC units have a heat sink attached to the voltage regulator to keep it cooler. On your particular revision LCDBC, there's no room for a heat sink. If Ext3 and Ext4 requires 5 volts power, I would suggest using something like this to power it up:
