What did you do today to your 3/S?

Tried to get some of the timing covers and shit back on, but the mosquitos have just been absolutely unreal with all this rain the last couple of weeks. I could swat at my arm and kill 3 or 4 of the little bastards at once. Going to pick up some Off spray and hope that helps, may try working at night, not sure if it'll help. And I'll need new lights for the shop to do it. I tried citronella, didn't do shit. Any other suggestions for cheap relief? I'm out there for about 4-5 minutes at a time and I get covered with bite marks.

God I hate those bastards! Make sure you don't have any standing water around your house, old tires, clogged gutters, anything that can trap water. They can breed in a tablespoon of water. If there is standing water you can't do anything about then buy mosquito dunks and drop them in the water.

Well unfortunately it was from a tarp that spread over the car while I was gone. The areas that were on the ground accumulated water so they were able to breed uncontrolled for a month while I was in NY. I've been draining any and all standing water I can find, but it's too late to stop the ones already alive. Just going to have to spray the shit out of myself and hope for the best. Don't mind being bitten a bit, just don't feel like getting malaria and mosquito aids from them having a all you can eat buffet & gangbang on my calves.

Man, I feel for you guys. We have NO bugs in Cali. No humidity either.

I looked at both of them longingly, wished I hadn't worked that extra hour, instead of coming home on time to turn a wrench on them. Then, I got changed, and went to cheer practice.

Well I'm an idiot. My climate control control crapped out a few months ago. I ended up ordering another and it wouldn't work. At the time I didn't know the a/c controller under the climate control was even a thing. So I posted and tried to find a solution and no one had one until a few weeks ago someone mentioned the a/c controller. Well I ordered a new one and went to install it tis morning only to discover that I had apparently unplugged mine while removing the digital climate control. Plugged it in and everything works fine. I feel stupid lol.

After solving my mosquito problem (read: copious amounts of chemicals that said I couldn't be in the area for several hours after spraying) I started working on getting hte front timing cover and motor mount support bracket back on..I then proceeded to drop the last nut for the motor mount to support bracket between the mount and timing cover. So pulled it all back off and sure enough, wedged down by the crank cog.

All I can do at this point is just laugh and say fuck it.

Pulled it out, and took a break for lunch. I'll get back to it after. Although I do have to wonder if I'm missing a component or something there (not that there was anything there before I took it off though), as that does seem like an oversight to have an area large enough for nuts or bolts (or rocks) to potentially (admittedly slim chance) to get behind there.

Did a little roadtrip to really feel out the car. Covered about 600 miles. Car felt great. Funny the dual core fmic was pretty much cold! every time I stopped and touched it even after hard pulls. Plenum I can now touch with my hand. Couldn't do when car was stock. Pulls never Went above 18 psi though, mostly around 15-18 psi range. Some Counts of knock randomly here and there. Never above 8 Counts though. Probably something I can tune out with ecuflash in the fuel map. Just havn't been arsed yet. :) Only sucky thing was some d*ck stole my licenseplate...

Installed the upper bumper brackets, both interior and exterior without taking the bumper off. The rubber lip was interesting to install. I pull it as tight as I could (it's touching the snake eyes on each side) and it still looks a little wavy. Maybe that will go away with some time and heat? Then I spent some time making my deft racing CF hood fit a little better. I'd never noticed how bad the fitment is. It bulges in the front middle where the latch is, so I tried loosening that bracket to pull it down. The holes in the bracket aren't slotted enough to make a difference, but I did find out that I used one of the bracket mounting screws to support my oil cooler. That was fun to resecure with the bumper in place. Oh well, the fitment is better than it was -- not awful. If I painted the hood white, I think it would make the uneven gaps considerably more obvious.

Almost done installing AEM UEGO wideband, AEM oil pressure, AEM boost gauge and Pioneer stereo in the VR-4. Ripped the ATX trans out of my Montero Sport I just bought as a beater to pull my fishing boat. Shop said the planetary gears are welded together and a total rebuild is 2k. Previous owner never changed the oil or filter in 150K miles. This thing is harder to work on than a VR-4.

installed the 99 coolant reservoir behind the front bumper and removed the stock reservoir and fuel pump resistor bracket. gained a good chunk of space up front so now I can put a catch can there.

Picked it up and drove it for the first time in months.

Hey, that means you didn't sell it. Planning on keeping it then?

Washed it, the new owner is flying in tomorrow morning.

So, I needed to move my Stealth so I could mow around it. I got it fired up and wanted to take it for a quick ride so fluids were moved through it and brakes and all that stuff wasn't too stagnant. I didn't go far, only a mile or so up the road and turned around and pulled back in the yard. Maybe 10 minutes later I see a state trooper drive by the house. It had me a little worried because when I took the Stealth for a ride a few weeks or so ago, a state trooper came out the road and sat in a pull-off next to the corn field that is caddy-corner from my house.

Is this just a coincidence, or reason for worry? Hmmm.

Went to dyno and verified tune after swapping out a new map sensor, ditching my Profec EBC for a Hallman, and replacing a number of compromised air seals, fittings, and hoses I damaged on my last track day.

Put down 578whp uncorrected / 710whp SAE corrected with a 1.23 CF. Air density was 77% and DA was 8640ft above sea level on the posted uncorrected run.

Next track day is Sept 15... working on some aero and undertray stuff in preparation.

The hot wire seems like it's gonna help me a bit with boost. :bigthumb:

Yeah, I have about 300 pulls logged on WIN 7. They are Kamak 20G's.

I'm planning on upgrading again to twin FP Green XL's and some custom BC cams. The upgraded Greens are an hta76. I'm going to push the rev to 9000 and put on some 1000hp turbos and see what happens.

Either enough torque to make the world start spinning whatever direction you're driving or another Big Bang creating a new universe..Maybe both?

Installed silicone intercooler hoses, EVOX BOV, and CX Racing y-pipe. The CX y-pipe is not the best fitting for the Silicone hoses. The end diameters are too big and I had to crush the ends a little to make it fit the hoses. The BOV opening is also bigger and I had to figure out a new hose to use for the BOV. The Y-pipe does look better and I'm hoping it doesn't pop off like the cheesy OEM one.

What rpm are you crossing 500hp?

Today I worked on fixing the idle issues and chased electrical gremlins. Only threatened to set the car on fire twice. So proud of myself.

I recently installed an Aeromotive stealth 340lph pump on standard power wires (with resistor bypass) and couldn't hear the pump. Installed Ninja Performance hotwire kit and I could then hear the pump. Obviously getting loads more power now. But still quiet compared to a Whinebro!
