Dropped my car off a few weeks ago at GZP and got a call from Hans saying my car won't start and it sounds like it jumped time. And here I thought I finally caught a break. Hopefully tomorrow I find out for sure. I'm hoping everything is okay. If not then I may be placing another order with DR.

Yes, it's Plasti-kote rebuilders cast finish(aluminum). They have the 'iron' as well which I use a lot.
No new trans.....yet-
had to tear it down as 3rd syncro had lost it's grip & it had developed a mystery leak. I scrubbed the crap out of it & it still sucked, so I painted it-
Looks better than my new oem trans does :) The copper colored valve cover is nice and unique.
I got my new rear hatch struts finally, so those will be going in later today. I'm also going to do another batch of electroplating & I need to finish cleaning up the fans/shrouds the rest of the way so I can remount them to the radiator.
Dropped PS rack, dropped front subframe and control arms, pressed out ball joints and bushings, dropped off everything at the powder coater. Started cleaning up the engine bay. Took inventory on what parts I have and what I still need to get.
My turbo rebuild is finished. WOOOT!!! Now my damn shortblock needs to be finished/

I'm pretty sure that the Aluma-Blast they use is from the Eastwood Company...I've used it now on several of my smaller projects & the stuff has held up very well so far using the proper steps (IE: used a paint-prep degreaser, a self-etching primer, & then the topcoat).
Anyways, I won an auction for an older IPS-polished upper intake plenum...It'll be much easier to mirror-shine this one back up than to continue with perfecting mine ATM (I'll continue with that one once I'm further along with my class ;)).

I cleaned up the oil filter housing some and attached it to the pump. Also put on the new oil pickup onto the new pump.
Just cleaned and painted (waiting for paint to dry) the dip stick tube and oil filter housing bracket.

The chrome looks good, but the clear is giving me problems on the piping. Getting a Faraday effect around bends. Tried the 15 and 25 settings for the powder coat gun, just can't get a good result yet. I'm sure it'll come with more practice though. Will probably end up redoing the pipes that I've done already.

Little whine earlier, then rocks in a tumbler right before it locked. I was on a smooth road and it made it feel very bumpy.

Damn powder coat gun broke. Eastwood dual voltage. Cup came loose during spraying and I made the mistake of trying to grab it. Broke off the air injection tube thing off the gun. So gun is now about as useful as male nipples. Read about some folks having that happen, but I got the gun for about 100 bucks new. Regret it now.
Should've spent the extra cash for a Caswell. Would've made applying 2nd and 3rd coats much easier, and they use metal tubes not plastic.
String of mishaps will end and you'll be good for awhile...

Raced it, put it away wet, you know the drill by now.
started it. tested some wiring things. changes will need to be made.
Couple of days ago installed my 3SX single pass (and broke the first bolt I touched), today I put on the submersible fuel line Forest sent me, soldered a plug into my hotwire so I can remove the fuel pump assy without resoldering every time, and figured out why my headlights were constantly on :) Next couple of weeks I plan to get it all ready for racing this summer! (Replace my dented SMIC with another stock one, find a plug to plug my plenum, install my Evo injectors, and tune it to 15 PSI)

It all goes together but it's a little tight. I'll enlarge some of the holes a hair. Also I have some misc new cheap and used oem gaskets, but want to pick up a set of new oem's. Also could use new studs and bolts for everything. Really looking forward to this :)
