Is there any video on youtube?I can't save that video. :( The funny thing is only a 9 sec 3/s and GTR seems like a slow car. All other cars spins tires and shift so many times and make tons of noise. lol Did you keep your old cat back system?
It's hard to tell from the video but I think I still see the same mufflers. Your car gained a lot with just a screamer and cams. :D You should gain even more as soon as you put the race exhaust on.

And the fact that you ran 9.8's on Z rated 18" street tires makes it more impressive! Switching to the ET streets should cut around 4/10th I bet off your 60ft, that should put you in the lo 9's.

The exhaust I have run for the last 8 years was always custom, changing bits as required. This year I have a true twin 3" downpipe into a 4" collector into a 4" through pipe, to twin 3" exit pipes with a muffler on each. We had a 101 db limit last weekend. This will change for the Jap Drag Series where we have a 120 db limit and I will run twin 3" pipes un silenced exiting just behind what is my passenger front wheel.
I did change to screamers and custom cams but also went solid internally shimmed lifters too.

I would guess that it weighs around 3300 lbs with me in it right now. We didn't get time to fit those cf doors :rolleyes: for the next event, I can't run them either but with the exhast mods and wheels and tyres, I think we will get down to around 3150. The class minimum weight is 3192 so I might need to add some ballast.
As an aside, I got Tein to re-valve and re-spring my rear shocks to 8kg springs with the fronts at 9 kg

The dyno sheet says you reved it to only 7k rpm. with solid lifters you'll have another 1500-2000rpm to go specially with the dog box.

Do you think I was shifting my car at ~6000 rpm were it's power stopped going up? NO I was shifting at ~8500rpm. That wide power curve kept me in the peek power all the way down the track. If I had shifted at 6000 I would have fallen way out of the power band and had to rebuild. Huge cams, huge overerly laggy turbos are grate for dyno numbers but wide power-bands are grate for track times....... (why do you think my car was always faster then Nelson's lighter, more powerfull, car even with him having a auto...)
Nelson never got a clean run with auto though. The only time he ran was at dsm shootout and he couldn't build boost off the line because of not being able to spray so the turbos could build boost in 2nd gear. People say his car built boost right before 1/8.
His car had a Auto in it in like 2006 When Ray ran 9.6's in his car at the GN, he want back and forth from auto to stick a few times when he was trying to get the car to preform, he had that car making 1300+ whp peek for 7+ years and according to him "going to races all over the place, and racing all the time", and in 7 YEARS he never got one clean pass? And all the time posting that "he will run 8's this week and you can take that to the bank"Quote:

you really drank the koolaid hu? His car never ran 8's cause it was not capable of running 8's in the configuration he built it in. If it was it would have in 7 years of "racing it all the time all over the place"

This is the only time he ran auto with out breaking it. Yes his turbos are too lagy and terrible to run with manual transmission with no spray, but with auto his car had a lot more potential. The other time where he went to track was domestic vs imports and he broke it that night so that was the only time he could get multiple runs without breaking.
I could do multiple runs about 20x a year at my local track. I would say that is typical for any track in the country. You don't have to wait for a national scene to race your car. Look at all off Matt's passes, or anyone's, they are on a typical weekend test and tune day. Nelson has no excuse for lack of track time or passes over the half a dozen years he vowed to break Matt's still standing record.
