Sweeeeeeet. What are you expecting when you pick her up?
Scotty
Expecting a slight increase in power and drivability. Will be nice to drive around on 14psi safely :p it's mainly a 1st step in the process. Next is exhaust then new SMICs. Eventually DR-750s :D
So last I heard it is running........ He called me cus he needed the old fuel pump resistor relay cus it wasn't firing up the fuel pump. Told him where to find it but he couldn't [my car is full of junk] so he found a way around it LOL. I'll give him a call tomorrow for an update.
Why did you give your car to the tuner guy full of junk? :p
News.
Haven't had a chance to properly test it yet. Hoping to today. It drives just like stock and starts well. I have to paly around with the hi/lo boost and report back. If I have time I'll go for a drive tonight.
OK... went for a drive. There is a road with lots of tight winding corners through the hills. Took it up there and pushed it hard. It definitly feels like there is more power in the hi boost tune. The low boost doesn't seem much different top end but low down it feels better, mid it seems a little flat. But 2nd gear with the hi tune is awesome. However I did have a few hesitations/stumbles which i'm not sure about. Only when in 2nd gear and nailing it to pass someone and it gives a quick stumble. Possible fuel cut maybe... He did say the fuel system is maxed out at the moment and the most he could get out of it was 12 pound. Said the injectors are maxed out above that. Also the stock boost guage no longer works. Not a big issue though as it will soon be ripped out.
I think I'll be buying some new injectors, FPR and pump and get it re-tuned and see how high we can push it. Will also replace the 3 stock guages with a proper boost, oil pressure & temp.
I had a look at what has been done. Thge stock soloinoid that controls the FPR has been removed/bypassed and joined directly to the plenum then the new MAP sensors has been T'd into this line. The MAF harness plug has been dismantled and the wires used to power the MAP sensor etc. Will be using my spare stock MAF and gutting it completely so it's just a oval shaped pipe for better flow.
mmm Dual Barrell throttle body yum yum
