If you like soft chewy bacon, make it in the microwave. You will thank me.

sorry about you getting the clap, nick. i myself have not yet been to italy. soon, i hope.
i hate chewy bacon. i want it crisp, not burnt & crunchy. unfortunately, there's almost no good burger joints over here (the patties are worse than mcdonalds), and the one REALLY GOOD burger place i go to serves bacon that's really just ham.
i'd be making my own burgers, but since we're 240v over here, i left my foreman grill in the states.
You have my sympathies. Burgers are one of my favorite meals..As is bacon. (And yes, bacon is a meal unto itself)
I've actually gotten pretty adept at making them just in a frying pan, which was a big step for me as before about 2 years ago I would always fire up the charcoal grill. There's something to be said for both ways. The charcoal grill has an excellent smokey taste, but the frying pan can give a nice kind of crust to it as well. I just try a lot of different things (as I can afford) but usually go back to steak burgers, ranch burgers or sriracha burgers.
Granite City thick cut brunch bacon that isn't chewy nor brittle is the best. Followed with a bloody mary and 7 or 8 mimosas to wash it down, you're in heaven.
I got one of these

There is no such thing as bad bacon but in a pan or in the oven is the way to go.
