Yea, I think I'll order one shortly.
Just waiting on my heads and cams to come back from IPS, then ill send the block to a local machine shop to get the machine work done and when I get that back Ill start assembling the engine.
Just need that windage tray, radiator and heater hoses, cooling fans, spark plugs, UR flywheel face and serpentine belts to get this thing back on the road. I see the light at the end of the tunnel :D
Very cool, thanks for sharing the link, UnknownVR4. It has sparked some interest in my build to have a windage tray.
I can see quite a bit of benefit in running a windage tray along with a crank scraper. It will reduce the amount of oil sitting on the counterweights on the crankshaft and still provide the correct lubrication to the main and rod bearings. The ultimate goal is to keep those bearings lubricated and this achieves it. I am surprised that more thought wasn't put into crank scrapers built on top of the oil baffle from the factory as so many people started spinning main bearings. It would also seem to me that the length of the oil pickup when adding say a larger capacity oil pan would produce slightly increased load on the oil pump. Is it standard practice to replace the oil pump gears when adding the IPS modified oil pan?
The IPS pan doesn't change the height of the oil pickup.
What was the oil pick that jackhammer was producing? Did that change the length?Quote:

I never owned one and he was somewhat secretive on what he made, so I can't say. I know he made a pan with a kickout and I know he also made an oil pickup from an ls1 or mivec motor for his own personal use, but wasn't aware he marketed them. The IPS pan is a nice piece.Quote:
