Parts keep showing up! I love the winter parts collection phase. Here are the lists:

This weekend I'll hopefully run the gas line to my heater that I hung a couple weekends ago. I'm tired of the kerosene salamander heater.

That's right. I think it was the coilpack and HKS DLI. Both of them were nearly brand new. I ended up buying another set later on to put on my car since I had to sell those at the time to fund a car purchase. You should definitely buy a Walbro 416/485. IPS has them the cheapest but I bought it through Chris Hill. He was willing to price match and I ended up donating the savings to them since it wasn't a big deal anyways but more out of curiosity. Selling parts isn't the bread and butter anyways.

The Aeromotive Stealth 340 isn't ethanol compatible. Trevor had one fail on him. It seems the failure rate is about the same as the non-ethanol Walbro 400. I ran it for a few months without any issues but sold it and the other brand new one I had in favor of the 416/485. After I switched from 720s to 1000cc injectors I found the 340 running out of steam around 26-27 psi. My AFRs wouldn't go any richer than 12:1 at that point which was as far as I wanted to push it. With the 416/485 I could get it into the 10s at that boost. Now at 31 psi I'm approaching mid to high 11s AFR again so I'll need to hookup evoscan to check my IDCs and see if it's the fuel pump or injectors nearly maxed. When I was doing some research I found an Evo dyno where they maxed a 340 on E85 at 630AWHP. I couldn't find many other E85 dynos but had already decided to switch to an E85 compatible pump. It's really nice keeping things simple. Eventually I will swap to dual pumps if I upgrade big enough to where I need it.

Finished up another batch of electroplating...Now it's time to really focus on getting the transaxle parts all purchased & sent off to Chris for a rebuild.

hmmmm. $179 from Ninja right now. May buy one just in case and have it as back up. If nothing else it can sit on shelf for a future twin walbro 416 install. I have a twin pump setup. I guess I would need -6AN cap for bulkhead/fuelhat and a -6AN cap for the yblock (-6 to -8). DLI died BTW. I think a little water killed it.

Back on topic...Not totally on topic, but I bought a trailer brake controller for the Montero which is indirectly for my 3S:D

fic 1050s are in and I have a tune set up. Should get it fired up today.

Reverse light

fired up. ran pretty lean on the evo guy's 1050 latencies. Got the idle ad reving in nuetral working pretty well already. Idles great for a fairly large old school style injector on gasoline.

I ordered some cables for the datalogging unit I'm piecing together & also installed the rear splash shields with the recently restored fasteners.

Took my son for a leisurely cruise to use up some of the old e85 in the tank and filled her up with fresh. Also quick oil change with vr1 synthetic in preparation for the journey to Pampena. Front o2 to downpipe gaskets are leaking a bit so ordered 2.5" from Map, hoping they are the right size.

Oh yeah, and new fixed stubby antenna too. Old one broke in the car wash. The old power antenna wouldn't retract. That thing is huge btw. Car is now 1 or 2 pounds lighter, lol.
Another cool thing I never knew, the old one had a drain tube for any water that possibly made its way in. Not sure I can reuse the drain on the new one, but being plastic and rubber, I don't think it'll leak.

Think I made another costly mistake not knowing. Set the timing on my car months ago but it wouldn't fire but everything lined up perfect .. Figured I had the cas sensor wrong and I did . So I switched it 180 degrees. Car sounded like it wanted to fire . But got a loud as bafckfire instead . So I pulled the timing cover and stuff off and with the crank at tdc , nothing lined up . Even turned the motor over by hand 2:times to see if the gears would line . They are way the fuck off !! Man I'm so stoked .

I renewed tags online and put it on storage insurance for awhile. It should give me motivation to send out a VCU core, build the SCE/Quaife 5-speed, and start swapping things over hopefully with some restoration work and paint but who knows how much time I'll have. I had other things on my mind with my grandpa going for quadruple bypass surgery tomorrow.

Sold my series 2 to be able to go flash!

tuned the flash on the 1050s a little bit more today. pretty close to stock afr and good fuel trims. When I run this tank out of fuel I'll swap in some e85.

Installed a new chinese eonon doubledin radio with navigation, ipod, dvd, am/fm, usb, 3.5mm jack along with JL audio speakers. Retained the existing sub and amplifier. Say what you want to say about the quality of the asian products but there are a lot of mainstream products made in china and malaysia anyway, just different quality control.

So far the unit has performed flawlessly. I wish the rca outputs were rated at a higher voltage but my 5-channel amplifier is more than capable of driving the system. Will see how it goes over time. I had a choice of paying $600-$900 for a more popular brand, or investing a couple of hundred to try something different.

What unit did you get? I may be interested in one if you like the one you bought.

Here is the unit I purchased. Wanted a fixed dvd slot instead of a motorized screen with more things that could go wrong. The speed of operation is super cool!

This may be a good unit. I went with Kenwood because of the Garmin navigation and the ability to upgrade the maps easily. Everything works great but mine does have processor lag and the price was way too high.

god my car electronics are so outdated.

I have a clarion touchscreen with all that minus the bluetooth. Mine required buying extra stuff to add bluetooth and steeringwheel controls. Bought them and never even wired it up lol. It's about 4 years old now and this one is looking much nicer AND cheaper

I'm aware Chris owns slicks, and pretty obvious from the vid anyway. I'm talking about the inch of rubber he just burnt off the back (I know it wasn't an inch :sarcasm:). Rotate, rinse and repeat.

My rear rotors are the same direction as his. Only ones I've seen recommended that way were $40 corvette ones my friend picked up. I have researched /obsessed about it for a while and the consensus is the other way but also very minimal difference. I will turn them around when I have them apart next time but in no hurry.

I always see them this way. And in my mind it seems like it would repel brake dust better (although my pads aren't supposed to leave much) and redirect the heat outwards instead of inward.

Other way give more friction and better stopping? Also shorter life?
