Ooooh shit, did not see that coming! Wow!
eat shit Pitt...
Jeremy
I had to laugh. Had a crazy busy day so didn't get to listen to the radio at work today, but this afternoon one of the Pitt fans who I like to joke with asks "You hear about Pitt's head coach?"
I was like, "What is he the next one accused to raping little boys."
He just shook his head, laughs and was like "Man I shouldn't even tell you, but he left, he's going to Arizona State or some shit."
LOLOLOLOL
First I've heard of this. Upon a quick search, it seems to be permeating from the Big 12 boards. Interesting since I found this article from 2008:
Texas OC Greg Davis dismisses talk of Auburn | al.com
What's Texas' beef with a Broyles Award winner and coordinator of a MNC team?Quote:

That Broyles award was a joke. He got it the year we ran a high school offense (VY's) with this NFL talent starting: Vince Young, Limas Sweed (WR), David Thomas (TE), Kasey Studdard (OG), Justin Blalock (OT), Tony Hills (OT), Lyle Sendlein (C), with Ramonce Taylor (incredible talent, drugs ruined his career), Selvin Young, and Jamaal Charles at RB and Ahmard Hall at FB. You've got an entire roster of NFL talent, if you can't find a way to put up ridiculous offense... Greg Davis is fine if you've got an overwhelming talent advantage.
The spread is pretty much all he knows, since 2006 he's been a really bad talent evaluator (Mack certainly shares a lot of that blame), he was totally unable to find creative ways to get top talent on the field (he never gave players special play packages), he tends to totally abandon the run, he allowed Texas' dominant running game from 2004-2005 to degrade to absolutely nothing by 2010 (and we had Jamaal Charles until 2007), the pussified offense and reach blocking totally ended our run of bad ass O-line and RB talent. He completely broke Garrett Gilbert, would have totally blown it with Vince Young had he not reluctantly decided to run VY's high school O and had people calling for McCoy's head in 2007. His offense of choice has become west coast precision passing which is extremely difficult for collegiate players with limited practice time to master. It was well documented that around the B12, there was no offense easier to prepare for then Greg Davis'. He specifically game planned for only one game a year (OU). I was never close enough to the field to hear it, but apparently defenses would call out our plays pre-snap we were so predictable. That's fine if you can just out talent the F out of the opposition, but on a relatively level playing field, it's awful. Let's not forget that if not for Muschamp's D (and Earl Thomas), we probably lose to that VERY mediocre 2009 OU team and don't even make the MNC.
I don't even think he's a good QB developer because Colt and VY were both amazing immediately. Hell, Colt regressed badly as a sophomore.
Not trolling. Genuinely asking. I know very little about the guy so I wanted to hear an opinion from a Texas fan.
FWIW, I've heard nothing else about him being a candidate. You sure you didn't snag a post from 2008?
