This thread is evolving quite nicely.
Haven't popped in for a bit. Just saying that I'm slowly getting my thyroid issue worked out (now seeing an endo) and am making progress at the gym, feeling better all the time. Great to see you guys still at it. RAWR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm feeling pretty bad right now.
Those of you that are close to Mike and I know he has serious health issues going on.
Things he can't control.
And I could fix most of my mine by eating better and exercising.
Doesn't seem quite fair...:(
So, I have been in the truck driving a lot lately at work meaning I haven't really been getting any shop "workouts" lately. I jumped on the scale a few weeks ago and saw my highest weight ever. That day I decided I was going to give up eating chips. I love(d) chips from Doritos to red hot potato chips, etc and I was eating them a lot. Sometimes I would use them as a replacement meal. When driving it was easy for me to pick up a bag at the convenience store and just eat those rather than eating a normal lunch.
I did drop a few pounds just by doing that, but I also had a negative effect. I have been drinking Mountain Dew like crazy since then. I don't know if it a direct result or just coincidence. I emptied my trash can in my bedroom and had 19 empty 20 or 24 oz bottles from 9 days. That doesn't include any that I drank at work or threw away in the kitchen trash can. I wouldn't doubt it the total number is closer to 40 20 or 24 oz bottles in the last 9 days. :smh:
I still haven't motivated myself to start a workout program or even to start running but I know I have to do something to stop drinking the Mountain Dew. When I stopped eating chips I just stopped buying them. I really need to do the same with Mountain Dew, but my biggest issue is getting drowsy while driving. It's more "highway hypnosis" than actually being tired, but the Dew still helps (sometimes) and I can't be risking falling asleep at the wheel. At the very least I need to severely reduce my Dew intake.

I competed in my first competition three weeks ago, placed 14th out of 36. Had some bad mistakes on my part. Lot of people were shocked I had only been doing it for 6< months.
