To sell or rebuild...that is the question.

I have a 93 Stealth TT. I was in the process of building a new motor for it, new bottom end, Dynamic Racing Stage 2 heads, 720 cc injectors, 19T turbos. vpc, and Gcc. Had a house fire in 2007 and lost the turbos, injectors, clutch kit, sensors, vpc, gcc, down pipe, ect. Still have the major parts (motor,6 spd tranny, etc.). I was wondering should I dump another 6k (guesstimate) in parts to finish the build or just part the thing out and get something else?

If the decision is to keep it, I am so far behind on what to put in these things now so what are the best upgrades for the transfer case, since they were the weak link, best computer controller, turbos, etc. Thanks for any help guys. If I decide to sell I will list what I have here on the site.

Again, that's all the top of the line stuff. You can get away with much much less.

What originally drew you to these cars? And what do you want out of the car now?

For a simple build you could do:

billet DR-650s
550 injectors
Flashed ECU or GM MAF & MAFT combo or ARC-2
RPS MAX clutch
Hotwired Walbro 255
M2 full exhaust
Transfercase cage
CX Racing FMIC

If you want to spend the full $6k you can get a billet transfercase instead and also a methanol kit. Ray put down 53X AWHP at 25 psi 93 race gas mix on a stock motor, exhaust, and intercoolers. If you want 600AWHP go with some DR-750s but a 500AWHP car is still a fun ride.

Originally I wanted the car because I just liked them, but now I have an Excursion diesel, gave my mom my 08 civic, and looking to either get something else or put money into this car.

To own one of these cars you really need the passion or excitement for it. If you've lost that then maybe time to move on. But what would you get? S2000 370z? It might be tough to find the motivation to complete it. If you could find that last bit of drive then you could finish and remember what made you like these cars in the first place

I've nearly walked away several times and got a supra but I always have something to bring me back. NG, TX gatherings, a quick pass on the freeway, a drive down the coast topless, ect

There are always stock people that want to upgrade. You could move parts fairly easy.

i once read a thread that stated if you buy a 3s, plan on keeping it for a long time or buy something else lol. that guy was straight foward. once you start dumping cash into one of these, you might as well just finish it. if you dont like the performance or whatever else, then just sell it. but i can almost bet that if you ask some of these guys how many 3s cars they have owned, i bet its more than a couple.

you probably could make a few bucks off it if you part it out but you lost a big chuck of your goodies which really sucks. look around everywhere for good deals on the rest of the stuff you want/need. when i was looking for stuff, i found my arc2 for 100 dollars lol. its a 1000 dollar unit. them dr heads would probably sell right off the top and maybe your bottom end depending on the price. good luck man. im finally getting my car together after owning her for only 2 years but ive never driven it lol.

Tell me if I am wrong here, but if I put the same amount of money into something else I won't have to work on it as much will I? My problem is when it was running I went through a transfer case, injector went out and ruined the engine, transmission upgrades, it kinda seems monotonous. If you dump the same money in other cars, you crank them up and drive them. Is there a good medium? If I get this, this, and this I will have a good running car that I can drive on the street any day I want, then occasionally race it without having to worry about retuning or adjusting something?
