Would AFPR help?

Just about every time I start my car now I have to crank it a couple times before it finally starts, I think this is caused by low fuel pressure but I'm not sure. So would getting an aftermarket fuel pressure regulator help or is it not going to do anything?

i would start with a gauge, an adjustable regulator isn't any good if you don't know what your adjusting it to. or it might show you that that's not your problem. try leaving the key in the "on" position for a couple seconds then turn the motor over, see if that helps. it'll give it a couple seconds to build pressure.

Sounds like a pressure regulator issue. I would want an upgraded adjustable one in there anyway with a stronger fuel pump.

I'll try leaving it on and see if that helps. If that does help would it point to the fuel pump as an issue, as it can't build the required pressure immediately? That's what the fuel solenoid should be doing, but of course I don't have that.

That's been my thought too, I might just buy one because it's a good idea to have and see if it solves the problem.

I have an AEM AFPR with everything to make it fit on the rail that i had on my car for about 250 miles before I took it off for an aeromotive afpr. pm me if you want it and we can talk about a reasonable price.

My AEM Honda FPR actually bleeds off pressure very quickly. I have to crank 2-3 seconds after a long sit before the car starts... so for me, it was actually the aftermarket AFPR that caused the issue.

Our pumps do not prime. This would not do anything for him.

That would point it to something else then, but what? All I can think of is the fuel solenoid was there to increase the pressure in case the gas was vaporizing in the line, which is what I expect it's doing.

Would a clogged fuel filter cause it?

My car started instantly every time before the AFPR install... so for me it was the AFPR bleeding off pressure too quickly.

Hmm, I just bought one so I'll find out if it stays the same with me or fixes the problem. Either way I think it's something I've been needing since I upgraded the turbo's.
