Are they really that bad? People say to stay away from them but are they actually cheap besides the price?
I don't think paying $150 or so for a used one to be a good idea.

I've not heard anyone say to shy away. Lots of people using them with no complaints.

I got one for my passenger side, It's not the highest quality and the motor seems to not be as strong as OEM so it is a little slower going up and down. It may just be due to the window itself needing adjusted and the tracks greased. I have not gotten a chance to look into it as of yet.
I bought 2 of them, 1 went right in the trash as it didn't have enough power to lift the window. The other is very slow, I took them apart and posted my findings somewhere. Basically very poor quality and draws 3x the power of stock while doing half the work. I would not suggest them to anyone.
1st I've heard of that. Thanks.

i had one for the PS too... Painfully slow, and the motor only worked when it wanted to. Im not sure whether the issue was wiring in the reg or the motor itself... but i just threw it away and got an OEM one.
Wonder if I can swap my OEM motor onto my eBay regulator.... I have a bunch of OEM here with the busted plastic tops I have been meaning to look into fixing.
That is what I plan to do with my E-bay ones if my original ones go bad.
You can't swap parts, completely different internals
Killjoy ;p
