Maximal transfer case bracket install (6 speed)

Maximal transfer case bracket install (6 speed) - I can't figure out where this thing goes. The 5 speed looked easy and straightforward. The 6 speed has me perplexed.

Attached are some pictures of the undercarriage. Is it right in front of my face and I'm not seeing it? Can anybody circle the bolts I need to remove/replace to install it?

I know it's probably not needed, but I already have it, and it's a "peace of mind" thing while I'm under there with things apart already. :)

(Yeah, it's filthy, it'll get cleaned up properly once it's running again and I can get it on a lift)

James, it bolts to the 2 bolts that are just to the right of the Getrag logo. Then there are 2 bolts that go through the tail shaft of the transfer case (to the right of the 446.0.0722 number on the tcase). It basically covers the side of the center section of the transfer case.

Sorry, missed this when I was on here earlier today somehow. Hans pretty much covered it. I thought I had an installed pic but couldn't find one so I used some MS Paint Skills to give you an idea...

Appreciate it and good luck with the install. Should be fairly straight forward now that you know where the thing goes.

Gonna try to tackle this tonight, been a nutty week. Regular torque specs for the transfer case from the manual, right?

A short 20 months later, I gave this a shot. The two holes with the pins towards the front of the car line up great. The two back at the transfer case, I can't seem to get quite right. I fiddled with it for 15 or 20 minutes, and it's off enough that I can't get either of the transfer case bolts to thread in. See pics:

I don't want to risk trying to hammer it on because I don't want to damage any internals, and I'm not sure if the "notch" in the rear plate is deep enough to get the holes lined up.

Is it possible the fitment is slightly off? I have the same fitment issue whether or not I bolt down the front half. I'm not sure what else to try?

I had to grind on mine just a little there and one spot near the cover. Its meant to be tight to have some preload. Take the case off the car and its easier.
