How the hell...

I installed the LCD BC et al last weekend, drove it around for a few minutes, really love the simplicity and options, it all worked great. I park the car, disconnect the Negative battery terminal; I come back this weekend, reconnect the battery as I do every weekend (never know how long it will sit, does have a parasitic draw to remedy, hardly my top priority right now) and it is completely dead. I hook it up to a charger, when I turn the key to accessory I get a haywire Wideband that pegs at 20 before the car is even trying to start, then when I crank it, I get a hum and the tach signal pegs at about 900 rpms, no anything. My question is... how can a battery that has had no issues shit the bed while it is disconnected, it had never had issues before installing the LCD which was installed correctly. Odd coincidence? Even on the charger the volts wouldn't even register at the battery.Yes, the cables were connected neg to neg pos to pos lawl. Can a battery seriously give up while disconnected? I doublechecked wiring to make sure something/anything hadn't become an issue, nothing.

I would suggest cleaning your battery terminals. I had the same issue with the battery seemingly dying while it was disconnected and cleaned the terminals and it ran perfect.

I just recently replaced the pos, and the neg looks impeccable, but cheap insurance for a few bucks I suppose. I would still think the charger would be reading any form of a pulse on that bitch... the fun never ends. It's something to pursue this weekend. Thanks.

If the battery was disconnected and drained, anything in the car cant be at fault. I would disconnect the cables from the battery and check the voltage again to make sure there isnt something in your car shorted, drawing major current. If the voltage of the disconnected battery isnt 12 volts, charge it for awhile to see if it comes back.

Not sure what is happening with the battery, but there is nothing with the controller that could/would cause the battery issue. Have you put a new battery in, or tried to use the start feature on the charger? Wondering if something with the charging system on the car went haywire.

The only new variable introduced would be the LCD, which is sharing an add-a-fuse with something reliant upon key accessory for power. I'll re-check for the sake of "why not."

Another thought... Is it possible that something could have slipped/moved/fell to make contact with the positive post while stored?

Re-connected the terminal, went to start, and nothing. Trying it on a trickle charge for the 7 minutes I could allot and then on "start" yielded the aforementioned response of a tach signal around 1k and a humming like fuel pressure building; definitely a first time to see something arise while a car sits disconeected for a week, the possiblity of any animals messing with it are nonexistent; I am so equally perplexed.

No, I set it on the other side of the handle to prevent it from accidentally sliding back, but for the sake of troubleshooting let's say "it did and I somehow wasn't around to see it." Blown MFI relay? What would be the possible troubleshooting? Wiring troubleshooting... not my strongsuit.

I would first get the battery back up to charge, and reconnect to see what is exactly going on.
