Hmmm...11grand for a salvage title, a bit high for myself but surely someone will jump on it!
Why a LT1? I wouldn't put a LT1 back in a LT1 car lol
Jeff
As I recall, the rationale was to fit a small-block Chev (it was available complete at a good price) to troubleshoot the build, and follow up with an LS7 later on.
The car as purchased was pretty much a basketcase, and my buddy had to cajole the guy into backing up a bit and doing it properly.
It was advertised as a mid-stream project, but was basically just a decent roller with a crappy conversion just started.
I think it was a 383 crate motor mounted with a home-made engine plate - it was pretty gruesome.
The guy actually sold it because he had to change jobs and do some driving between Denver and Houston, so he needed a better road car.
As I understand, he'd been DDing the FD for several months, and getting it squared away as he went.
I've driven the car, it's probably 400 WHP, and handled like buttah.
Umm, pistons, heads, and a cam? Its not magic.....
You can see headers already.
Pretty sweet, looks very fun to drive.
It spent some time with a Denver tuner - I believe the set-up was flashable.
My butt-dyno may have been off at that altitude as well. :)
