E3 Sparkplugs
What do you guys think about them? Thought it might make a good discussion.
You know me I hate any thing that claims power increase with out Non-Biased dyno results
i did take the time to search around for a few back to back Dyno videos... Some where E3 Related others were fully independent. Horsepower/TQ gains everywhere from 3-15hp/tq in everything from Motrcycles to stock engines to fully build V8s.
What does this do for a Turbo Engine?
Also I have seen similar gains in other vides i found using just other companys premium plugs such as NGK.
Im one for only sticking to plugs recommened by the Owners Manual but Cheap Horsepower is Cheap HP

"......but Cheap Horsepower is Cheap HP"
In my experience, "Cheap Horsepower" is really a contradiction in terms.

that huge groundstrap looks like a great pre-ignition source to me. That and you can't gap them.

if you put 3 of these in front bank with 3 copper in the back. Will you get different readings if front burns more of the fuel? After adjusting for a baseline difference. Just wondering if there us an easy way to measure effectiveness easily. Anyone got an EGT probe in front and rear?

effectiveness = Dyno.
Would like to see new standard plugs put in then swapp in e3s and dyno again

anything that blocks the flame front and the air from getting to a clean spark source will not and cannot help power... its not how spark plugs work. or what makes them effective.. if you want real spark performance you need to clock(index) your plugs and side gap them to open them up to the chamber. NOT put the spark in a sheild.. That will make a TERRIBLE flame front.

check out the plugs on the new volvos..

get the flame kernal into the chamber as fast and cleanly as you can.
as you can see in this amazing video the ground strap blocks the flame front enough. with out putting a bird cage in front of it.

Side gapped plug a modified plug or a specific type of plug? Any dyno info?
Also explain the Clock or index of the spark plug.

I`ve seen NGK motorcycle racing plugs that have no ground strap at all, presumably because there`s no room in the chamber for one.
Indexing a plug is aiming the open area so it has best chance of lighting the inlet charge, you need to shim the plugs. I honestly can`t see the gains being worth the effort TBH.
BRISK sparkplugs have no groundstraps either but wouldn`t have one anywhere near my engine..

FWIW VW used triple ground strap plugs in the 80's and switched to single ground strap plugs. That said, they switched back to the triple ground strap plugs since they produced my car.
