| Current Mods: DR650 Billet turbos Maximal Cat Ebay downpipe Tein S-Tech Springs w/KYB struts 255/40R18 Conti DW Hot wired Walbro pump Vac Reduction TurboSmart Plumb back BOV Story: This was an eBay car that I purchased in 2007 (Las Vegas Car.) When I took delivery in Chicago, the tail lights did not work and shortly after, the shifter linkage failed. ~250 miles with 3rd gear ONLY got me home. At that point I had two options, sell it as is (actually disclosing the faults I have found (salvage title, etc,)) or fix it up. I took option #2. In the first winter I spent roughly 6k on parts and started the rebuild. New wheels, tires, brakes, suspension, transmission, clutch, seat covers, radio, etc. Both forums were priceless for knowledge!!! (well I had to resort to 3si for a few years  ) After all of that, I finally had a car that was in average condition in my mind. The car ran decent for 5 years while life threw some curveballs. I only put 7-8k miles on it... No cruise control or climate control. Huge boost leaks and a turbo that burned oil. I also hit a deer @ 60mph on the way home from NG12. I finally picked up a replacement hood from Josh Mitoska. He also helped with a cruise control computer and climate control linkages. I wish I could have made it to the strip in spring, because I believe it would have been a 15 sec quarter mile. 2013 Fixed some boost leaks, installed new front turbo (13g - Midwest Turbo), new downpipe, cat, BOV, Boost controller, SAFC NEO... AEM Uego, and new X-case with brace. I hoped to drag race at NG but had a coolant issue pop up just days before... A month later, I finally made it to the track... 13.4 was the fast time that night. A few weeks later my slow time was 13.3 with a fastest of 13.121. Also put roughly 8,000 miles on it this summer!! 2015 DR650's, 550cc injectors, motor mounts, Stri gauges, new dash, replaced heater core box, ABS Delete, etc |
