My wife is turning 30 in November and I have an idea for her birthday.

I'm wanting to recreate the end scene to 16 Candles.

To pull this off, I need a red Porsche 944.

Does anyone own one, or have a friend who has one that I could rent near the Texas DFW area?

RAC Performance might be a good bet, that car is probably there on consignment and they can put you in touch with the owner. I know two guys that have 944's as track cars, but they are not red and not even street legal, so that's out. I'll ask if they know anyone else in the area with one.

Oh, I'm still going to go for it. .. just need to find the darn car. The RAC car is a stripped out track car. :(

Look in Craigslist, I see a bunch of them for sale fairly cheap, some are red, like this one...

It's a shop, so they might be willing to let you take it on an "extended" test drive.
