I see alot of threads avout switching from auto to manual trans, but has anyone done a manual to auto conversion? I have been looking at a 94 3000gt that my gf say down the road, she loves it but cant drive stickshift, and personally I got sick of shifting after my last mustang, was fun for awhile but too much traffic, and my knee is bad in my left leg. Anyways to get back to the point, I got some extra money and would have enough to get the car and pickup an auto trans and probably what else I would need, but dont know much at all about mitsu's or 3000gt's although I always wanted one but always had mustangs and firebirds. So what other goodies would I need to get to convert this thing? Obviously I know I would need basic stuff like a shifter assy, and ecu, but could that be flashed, or need a whole new one? I know in mustangs you can use an auto ecu in a manual conversion by having it flashed, but not manual to auto because the ecu doesnt have that program in it for shifting, does 3000gt's have that too? and what about other little things like starter, wiring harness, that kinda stuff? Has anyone on here done a swap like this and could give me a fairly detailed list of parts, also what trans type to get, can I use one from a stealth if it has the same enhine? This 3000gt has the base 3.0 non turbo engine in it. Any suggestions and tips would be greatly appreciated guys. Also just to make clear that there are no 3000gt's or stealths anywere around here for sale with an automatic, thats why I am thinking of this swap for this car.

Just buy an auto 3000GT and get it over with. It will not be worth the hassle or headache to make it work.

You will have more money into converting a manual into auto than you would by buying an automatic car and having it shipped if you can't find one in your area.
