Absolutely always. Even when I'm just moving around in a large parking area (like a 1/2 mile in a Mall).

Mine used to ding at me but I unhooked the sensor only because it started going off even when I was wearing the belt.

Always while driving every vehicle except for my old S 10... for some reason in that car wearing a seat belt was incredibly awkward. Obviously that was dumb but it's sold now soo...

Always. Even if I'm going out of the driveway to park on the street. It's habitual and I think about it subconsciously. I had a good friend two weeks ago fall asleep coming home after his 16 hour 3rd shift. Had he worn his seat belt he would have survived rolling the car 7-8 times but instead got ejected from the car at the last part snapping his neck and killing him.

When I was younger I did not always put it on.

Fortunately one day when I got cut off by a guy coming out of a side street I had mine on. I was going 45 and T boned his car. I had a seatbelt shaped bruise for days. I would probably be dead had I not been wearing the seat belt. (no air bag in that car)

The only time I don't is when I'm in a cab. For some reason, it doesn't dawn on me to buckle up when I'm in a taxi. In the car, all the time.

When I was young and indestructible I never wore it. Then NJ passed the seatbelt law, so at the time, I wore it ONLY for the sake of not getting pulled over. Now, I wear it all the time regardless of law. Putting it on is a habit that I don't even think about anymore.

Always, I feel nood without it. I do admit that once and a while I'll pull out on the road before I put it on but only in a place that has a 25 MPH speed limit. Most of the time it's because I'm in a hurry but I do put it on as soon as I've pulled out.

Insurance purposes is the excuse they use (and it was long before Obamacare, lol...NJ started theirs in either 99 or 00). Their logic is that people not wearing their seatbelts are a lot more likely to either die or get severely injured, which will drive up insurance premiums for everyone else in the state because of the cost to treat those injuries, and wearing a seatbelt is supposed to reduce the extent of injury in an accident.

yep. feels really awkward without it on. it's second nature to me. right hand shifts into gear, left hand attaches belt. been that way since i got rid of the car i had with an automatic seatbelt. at most i'll move my car only a couple of car-lengths before i'm buckled up--and that's only in some unusual circumstance.

i have no problem with laws requiring seat belts. driving is a privilege, not a right. belts are just one of the things you must comply with.

Agreed, if stupid people want to die, fine. They won't be able to breed and I won't have to pay for their welfare kids. lol

Seriously though, the only reason to need the law IMO is I don't want to make a mistake and pull out in front of somebody and kill them when they would have been just fine if they were wearing it, family sues me. Just like helmet law, if you don't want to wear it fine but you loose the right to sue for any head injury that would have been prevented by wearing it.

Ironically the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania does not require rear seat occupants over the age of 18 to wear seatbelts.
