VR4 Weird Electrical Problem / Radio Shuts off

It all started on a highway when my car radio would die randomly and repeatedly while driving until my car would shut off going at 60mph pulling to the side of the road, waiting for a minute and starting the car off again like no problem. The Next day it wouldnt start, so i had to jump it. After the jump i let it run for 10 minutes and turned the car off. Fire her back up, would stall out as i hear rapid clicking from fuel pump relay and everything electric acting up.

Replaced the Alternator with a rebuild one. Fires right back up like a champ except the headlights lamps dont turn on but everything is working. Played with the switch, 1 out of 50 times I would get the headlights to turn on... anyway. Today i been driving her around and i noticed something weird.. Everytime I pressed the brake pedal, the radio would turn off and then back on once my foot is off the brake or on the brake.
When i press the window buttons, the radio/gauges/cluster would dim or shut my radio off. Only once shut my car off and drained my battery in a second to the point I had to jump it! Also everytime I open the door, my radio shuts off.

Now my question is... Is it a short? Ground? or my battery needs to be replaced?

Check the alternator fuse in the underhood fuse block. Its the 120amp fusible link that is bolted in.

My guess is a bad connection somewhere. Check all the battery connections really well, not just the terminal but the wires running to the terminals also.

Sometimes it can be blown down inside. It sounds like your alternator isn't charging. If you know your alternator is good then this being blown can be a culprit.

Have you load tested the battery? Check your battery cables also. Whats happening is any current draw is pulling down the voltage to a point where stuff starts turning off. Could be a bad battery, bad connection between the battery and alternator, bad alternator, or any combination of the above. Check to see that the alternator is also charging at about 13.5-14.4v when the car is running. Once that is resolved you should not have any weird electrical issues, its all battery and charging system related.

Before this started happening did you make any changes to the car, clean it (wash the engine compartment, power wash the car, empty the ashtray) anything? Will the power go off if you shake or bounce the car? Are the ground straps secure and in good condition?
