For those wanting to join us on Saturday, here is what I'm thinking so far:
https://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msid=216386660686277651401.0004ca7e3376b7e6f140 a&msa=0&ll=41.479519,-82.835884&spn=0.218889,0.528374
Noon: Meet up at Subway (http://local.yahoo.com/info-15704790-mickey-s-smoke-shop-sandusky) in Sandusky for Lunch.
1:00 - Depart for cruise to Marblehead Lighthouse State Park (http://www.dnr.state.oh.us/parks/marblehead/tabid/763/Default.aspx). Then we will cruise over to Island Adventures (http://www.island-adventures.net/) for some mini golf or go-karts. Afterwards we'll head through Port Clinton, and make our way back to Sandusky.
7:00 - Meet up for dinner somewhere, yet to be determined. There are tons of restaurants along Milan Rd. in Sandusky.
8:00 - Anything goes... maybe some cruising around town, a stop over at Toft's (http://toftdairy.com/parlors.htm), or whatever.
Sunday:
12:00 - Meet up at Coaster's restaurant (under the Corkscrew) at Cedar Point.
----------
We are open to any other suggestions for Saturday's activities, just let me know.
For dinner Sat., we were thinking of meeting up somewhere on Milan Rd. in Sandusky There are tons of restaurants along there, here's a map showing them: https://maps.google.com/maps?oe=utf-8&client=firefox-a&ie=UTF-8&q=restaurants+milan+rd+sandusky+ohio&fb=1&gl=us&hq=restaurants&hnear=0x883a4722fa32d917:0x8c2afe0c53d85766,Milan+ Rd,+Sandusky,+OH&ei=0SdhUM2WKKqZ0QGC-oHQBA&ved=0CLsBELYD. Always ride the dragon. Its one of the few Lori will go on. (aka its mild)
I want to ride millennium force and Raptor again and try top thrill. I should be able to fit on them now that I've lots weight.
don't forget maverick. :)
and disaster transport is one of the few bobsled coasters around. one of only 3 i've ridden.

Its not a bobslead any longer. When they made it disaster transport they ran track through the tube system. Its just an indoor coaster now.
I have not done maverick yet.

it was always a bobsled...just an indoor one. apparently it was closed permanently in the last month. :(

Weird maybe they added some tracked sections. I remember it when it was avalanche run. The ride seemed much more stable and coaster like after the enclosure. I recall seeing something that said they had laid track in the tube.

Haven't ridden that one yet. We usually stick to the same coasters when we go- Millenium Force, Top Thrill, Maverick, and Raptor. They never get old. Ever. :p
just found out they're putting a new coaster in where disaster transport was. opening some time in 2013.

We have sitter So I and my wife will be coming, who's bringing their 3s with?
Alan92RTTT

Not sure what car we are bringing.
We plan to come down Saturday night and stay at the breakers hotel. Lori plans to call and see how many people are needed to get a group rate.
If you have facebook please go here https://www.facebook.com/events/144741455665141/ and signup to say you are coming so we can try to get an accurate count. Could someone post that link on 3si so that we can get anyone coming from there to signup for the count as well?
I'd hate to have enough people for a group discount and not know it.

I checked their rates online, they're a little steep (at least for cheap-asses like me :p). Even with a group discount I would think they're still gonna be more than what I'm willing to pay. I think we are still going with the campground route. We have a tent gathering dust bunnies, so we should probably get some use out of it anyways.
who's bringing their 3s with?
We plan to.

Alan, I would copy your post over to 3SI, but I know right now that the link will not fly. I already saw someone in the Michigan section post a link to the facebook page, and it was removed. Not sure how to get around that...

Traci, Were just thinking group tickets for park entry not for the hotel. Lori is not into coasters so she gets nice hotel out of the deal ;)
hum, Wonder if a link would fly is I took 3sgto out of the event title. Can you ask someone there if that would be acceptable?

Doh! Totally thought you were talking about the hotel. :p

I could ask, but I doubt it would. It'd still be tied to the 3SGTO page.

I was only trying to save that person some trouble from others when I removed the link. You can post the link, I won't say anything... but just be warned that some will have a problem with it. Hopefully nobody outside the that subforum will venture in ;)

Hotel book 2.7 miles away from park. Hope the weather is in our favor.
Shall we start PM each other our phone numbers so we know where to meet in the park?

I was thinking pick a time / place in the park for the "meet time".
My thought was noon at the Coasters restaurant(the one under part of Corkscrew). Its centrally located and easy to find.

Just booked our hotel room in Sandusky, hope the weather holds up ok!
My boss at work went last Sunday with weather conditions similar to what's expected this Sunday, and he said the longest line was 20 min. which was for Maverick (which always has the longest wait times in the park). That is awesome, hopefully we can be that lucky!
On another note, for anyone planning on coming along on our cruise Saturday, bring a FRS radio if you have one so we can communicate between cars.

OK looks like we will be in the area about 7:00 PM, anyone up for that being the dinner time? if not I could meet up at Toft's, My wife is all for an ice cream stop. With the chance of rain being 40% on Sunday, the stealth will stay home, my R-compound tires that are worn to the point of slicks will make for horrible traction in the rain.

Ok, we'll change the dinner to 7:00 then, that should be fine. We could probably use that extra time to go get checked into the hotel maybe. Let me know if you guys have any suggestions on where you'd like to eat. I called Toft's, and they are open until 10pm tomorrow, so we can still stop there afterwards if we want.

Lori does not get off work till 4, we may stop at IKEA on the way out and we'll probably eat before we get on the road. I don't expect that we will be in before 9 or so.

Ok, for those who are coming and haven't purchased their tickets yet, there is a deal on Cedar Point's website where you can get one free admission this season when you buy a 2013 season pass. Season passes are $104.99 each, and one day tickets online are $44.99. So, if you were to take the $44.99 (through AAA we would be paying $40) it would cost you for Sunday, you could get the season pass instead for like an extra $60 bucks per person. That is not a bad deal really. I think we may actually consider that...
