Hi All,
I might be jumping the gun here as I don't yet have the funds but i'm doing my research LOL.
Looking at 19Ts [or variants of them] at this stage. I'm a little confused about all the names and what they are actually made up of. 19T is pretty easy. There are 3 wheel options L, HL & stock 9b wheel. But the DR60/750 and the random 3sx kits is where it gets confusing.
What does all the names mean? what are they like? I hope to make a healthy 500hp but still be able to drive it daily :p if possible LOL. Also something with a quick spool.
So please fill in these.
DR650
DR750
3SXecutioners
3SX Eliminators
DR 19Ts
STM 19Ts
3SX 19Ts
Any feedback on each one? are the 750s worth the extra money etc etc.
Hopefully this helps others as well and I haven't wasted everyones time hahaha
Cheers,
Joe

DR650 - No one is really exactly 100% sure what turbine or compressor wheel they use.
DR750 - No one is really exactly 100% sure what turbine or compressor wheel they use.
3SXecutioners - I am pretty sure these use to have a custom compressor/turbine wheel, however I am almost positive these are just plane jane 15gs now (15g compressor, td04L turbine)
3SXeliminators - I am pretty sure these use to have a custom compressor/turbine wheel, however I am almost positive these are just plane jane 13gs now (13g compressor, td04L turbine)
DR/STM/3SX 19Ts - All use the 19T compressor. I know DR and 3SX have an option to use the bigger HL turbine wheel instead of the L turbine wheel, and I believe the option to use the wrx compressor housing. The L wheel will spool faster, the HL wheel will spool a tiny bit slower but have more top end & power throughout the RPM band.
If you want something with quick spool and 500hp, go with the 19Ts with the L turbine wheel and the stock TD04 housings.

I believe to upgrade once and be done, so DR750 is a good bet. Also, the DR750's will get you to your goal easiest and without pushing the turbos or running on the edge of your setup and without having a ton of other supporting mods like heads ect.
If you have the money DR750's if not 19T's are second best i according to results.

Which is better for normal street use? I still need to be able to drive it daily. I'm considering looking into an engine management system that can handle 2 tunes. Street and performance. Failing that it will have to be an electronic boost controller.

You don't always need two tunes & EBC, just don't mash the gas while daily driving and you won't be waisting fuel. My MAFT Pro is setup to read the wideband & has a whole page of settings to be able to go into an extra lean cruise. I'm at about 16.5:1 AFR at cruise and get pretty good mileage. May not be the best option out there, but it works pretty well when setup right. Unless of course you are going to be switching between different fuels.

If you want the best of the best in TD-04's the DR750's are the way to go. Billet compressor wheel DESIGNED to be used in this housing/application , the highest flowing, super light titanium aluminide turbine wheel. You get what you pay for if you want the best in TD-04's the DR-750's are it.

thy spool about like 13G's or dr-500 do. The lightness of the turbine wheel and compressor wheel despite being so large makes that possible. These turbos you truly do get the best of both world, lightning fast spool and BIG power up top.

From everything I've heard so far... FAST. Faster than 19Ts or DR-650s. Matt has said before that he thought they may even be quicker than a set of 16Ts.

Matt that is a huge comp wheel. What is the dimensions just out of curiosity? My 17g's were 1.744, 2.382 but that wheel looks enormous. Do you know lbs/min for 1 turbo?

here are some pics of a DR750 next to a 16T (The 16T already a big up-grade over stock, beyond 15G performance)

Allot bigger then that, the Inducer dimension is larger then that of even a EVO3 16G and it being a billet turbo the center post is much smaller that means it has much more inducer blade area then a a EVO3 16G does

Cool man, I didn't know it was that big. Bigger than an evo3, then it is near the 68hta billet wheel that FP stuffs in their big 16g housings.

Adding another: DR500- TD04-13C - Basically a 13G, Similar spool up and power
DR650 - No one is really exactly 100% sure what turbine or compressor wheel they use. Heard they are basically super ported 15G's, but thats just stipulation
DR750 - No one is really exactly 100% sure what turbine or compressor wheel they use. Fast Spool, Big top end. Best of both worlds
3SXecutioners - I am pretty sure these use to have a custom compressor/turbine wheel, however I am almost positive these are just plane jane 15gs now (15g compressor, td04L turbine) They are actually 13G's bored out and custom fitted for a 16T compressor wheel. So basically a Brand new 16T. 3SX markets them as a custom turbo under their name for some reason. They have similar spool to a 15G but more top end (less top end than a 19T however)
3SXeliminators - I am pretty sure these use to have a custom compressor/turbine wheel, however I am almost positive these are just plane jane 13gs now (13g compressor, td04L turbine) True, This is just a brand new MHI 13G

For 500 WHP,I would agree that 19T with the L turbine is the way to go. IF you want 500 Crank HP then 16T's or even 15G's would probably do the trick

Those 750s certainly look nice but are they worth the extra $1700 over the 19Ts? 19Ts with the L wheel [quick spool] can be had for $1900 while the DR750Rs cost $3599.00. $1700 is a lot to spend on other mods

If I was about going fast (rather than looking good ;) ) I'd be giving you a call!!!!

In short, YES.... the question is it worth that TO YOU. Do you want a turbo that will make more power and spool faster at any given boost level? do you want a turbo that can go well over 600 whp (even on a totaly stock motor) if you decide you want that? Remember HP is addictive, once you have 500 you will want 600+ prity soon. If you think that some day you are going to want 600whp it's cheeper to buy the right turbos for the job first then replace them lator.
Me I would not own a 19T car just because thy always leave me wishing "I wish I had more" And I have built and driven plenty. My DR750 car never leaves me wishing that.

That's what I said matt, upgrade once and be done. Plus it bolts on. If I still had my fwd tt and these were out when I upgraded, I would have bought these. I bought 17g's because that seemed to me as better than 15g's back 5 years ago. And I didnt want to upgrade twice. I still wish I would have seen what they really did. I only ran them on pure pump and 18psi was the highest ever. I trapped 123.

Damn this DR750 talk! I am TRYING really hard to keep my savings account "healthy" but this turbo is a damn drug that keeps showing up and wanting me to get her turbines flowing.
A week ago I convinced myself on 19T's but now I am in a damn dilemma again lol.

This is true. But even if you wanted separate tunes with different fuels, using MAFT-Pro is pretty easy. You just save each tune on a laptop and upload them from there as needed. I love my MAFT-Pro.
I've got 19T-HL's, if I could afford 750's I would own them. Unfortunately I'm a broke college student :( Hey Matt, how about a student discount? lol
I should have elaborated a bit more. I meant you only need one tune, unless you are switching between fuels, and yeah, you are right, it is very easy. There is even a power harness, so you can unplug your box, bring it into your house, plug it into your wall outlet and use your desktop computer if you don't have a laptop. Even easier is that it has a few accessory input wires. You could hook a switch to and the pro has alternate fuel and timing tables for when the switch supplies voltage.

i know what turbos are on my list after reading that :)
i had no idea those 750s spooled so fast.
