I'd like to see battery life, pricing, and screen resolution.

600dpi on the 10.5" 16:9 if that helps, no word anywhere on battery life. There are multiple versions using different processors.

600dpi doesnt sound right. Not sure if id like that keyboard either, but it is mobile. Doesnt look too bad overall, just not the one im looking for. I have a specific set of needs.

I say it'll flop.

Also, its too bad the Zune didn't do well... I had one of the gigabeats that its based off of back when they first came out, and it massively beat the video Ipod IMO. But, no fancy ad campaign, and it wasn't sold all over the place.

The price might scare me... but it can't be worse than apple. If this was the ipad4 apple fanbois heads would be exploding and
they would all be screaming OMG innovation, Apple and bowing and praying to a Steve Jobs picture.

A arm tablet does me no good though, I need a pro version.

It won't flop, its too damn good to flop. Just the magnesium case alone is fricking sweet.

yeah you are right, having the android or ios would be much better for doing real work like tuning your car or running the hundreds of applications you already own. wait..?

I'd pony up for the i5. Soon we will have full convergence where you take your computing power with you and just use the peripherals most appropriate to the setting.

you forgot they'd be jerking off to their "retina" displays as well.

the better processors come with the 1920x1080 screen.

It isn't "retina", but at least you can set the thing to the full resolution, roflmao.

Here is a little more info:

Good luck tuning your car with Windows 8.

there are already people who have used ecuflash with the windows 8 previews, so I'm not sure what you are trying to imply here.

on a tablet with questionable hardware?

I don't understand what your problem is. Did Windows 8 come and burn your house down or set your car on fire? It is not even released yet and you are saying it is going to be so flaky it can't maintain a usb connection for 30 seconds.

Maybe because they essentially turned the next version of Windows into a shitty tablet OS and crippled the normal desktop functionality to do so. I don't see what the obsession with tablets is in the first place, so maybe I'm just weird.

The normal desktop is there if you want to use it.

Yeah, with an overly complex procedure and with some limitations:

Boot to the 'Classic' desktop in Windows 8 Consumer Preview | ZDNet (http://www.zdnet.com/blog/hardware/boot-to-the-classic-desktop-in-windows-8-consumer-preview/19068)

for example: http://www.geek.com/articles/geek-pick/a-real-user-proves-windows-8-fails-on-the-desktop-20120312/

right because they aren't going to make that easy for the full release. Geez, this is why companies don't like releasing betas.

I don't expect 8 to be perfect anyway. Pretty much every other version of windows has growing pains. It is necessary for progress.

The public perceptions is going to be bad for 8 no matter what, just like it was for Vista. 7 is a savior when on a computer that is already setup they both run similar enough normal people can't tell the difference.

Windows 9 will come out and they will have everything ironed out. I'd rather see this than no progress at all, but you are free to go back and run XP if you want to.

there is something a lot better to complain about anyway:

DailyTech - EPA Clears the Way for E15 Fuel at Local Gas Stations (http://www.dailytech.com/article.aspx?newsid=24966)

Well screw the EPA then. My bike is going to run like ass on E15, the truck I've been driving already runs like crap on E10, it's down on power pretty noticeably.

I have been using the w8 beta for like a year, I truly like the idea of a new tablet that can show all the other manufacturers some competition, I hate the idea of a $800 dollar iPAD or a convoluted nonsense android tablet for 500... I want functionality, ease of use, if you havent used W8 you should, it truly is intuitive and second nature, it still feels ambitious but I think as hardware matures it will be even better

I don't really care either way, I just like poking at Mike and his fanboi-ness. :D

Anyway, a 16gb iPad can be had for $499. The 64gb is around $700. The Surface RT might compete price wise with the 16gb. The Pro is going to be priced along the lines of an ultrabook. So, comparing prices isn't going to win any arguments. I do agree though, competition is always good, and I wish success for the Windows tablet. Funny, Billy Gates introduced a tablet pc in 2002, and no one gave a shit. Boy, how times change...

My Asus 1.4GHz NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad core 10.1" costs about $400. God, I love Asus.

That's because Asus is amazing. My Asus EeePC is still rocking hard after two deployments and multiple operating systems - XP, Win7, Kubuntu, Ubuntu, Mint - and my Asus Republic of Gamers laptop is fucking ridiculous.
