I'm in the market for either a replacement wheel or a whole new set of 4 if I can find something I like for cheap. Currently I have TSW Vairano wheels in what I gather (from my measurements) to be 18x8 with a 20mm offset and 245/40/18 tires. The tire does poke out a bit at the top of the fender but is flush at the side skirts and bumper covers so I'm happy with the fit.

I've been reading every 3S wheel thread I can find but nothing has really grabbed me that's in my price range (about $150 per wheel) and is a guaranteed fit without grinding calipers or adding spacers.

The ones that I do like are Drag DR-38s (and maybe DR-31s and DR-34s), American Muscle AMRs (thanks to R/T93's car), and Konig Deception (though I'm not sure whether these will clear the calipers).

The type of wheel I'm after is black or at least very dark gray, 18" diameter, a width that will fit my existing 245/40/18 tires, and I prefer a concave spoke design. Not to complicate this any more but there may be a chance I will buy all new wheels and tires for the Stealth but right now I'm looking at wheels that will fit my existing tires.

I really like the Konig Deception 18x9s because of their concave spoke design but I've read that the 35mm offset won't fit the 2nd gen TT calipers. I'm not sure if the 18x8s with 20mm offset would interfere with the calipers or not. It seems all 18x8s in my price range lose the concave spoke design.

Does anyone have any other options I may not have thought of? The main sites I've gone to are TireRack, DiscountTire, WheelMax, WheelsNext and AmericanMuscle.

if you find another pair of wheels would you be willing to sell your TSWs?

I like the Konig Deceptions too but I need something that will clear my 332mm BBK.

you may be able to get a fitment template for the Konig wheels if you look around or ask Konig. They were helpful for me a few years ago.

i don't know of any new $150/wheel rims that aren't essentially garbage. used, maybe.

After another look at the TSW wheel that flew off I think the lug holes may be okay. I'm at least going to run it for a while, check torque every X miles and see if it loosens up over time.

I think there are plenty of $150 wheels that are just fine (like the ASAs that have been on my Impala for 9 years). It depends on what they're being used for...like most other parts on a car. However, finding cheap wheels that I actually like and fit the calipers has proven incredibly difficult.

+1 that a decent wheel will be hard to find for $150. You could go the saleen/cobra wheel route and be close to your price. Also, I wouldn't want to spend money on new wheels that are narrower than the stock ones (8.5), but that's just me.

I don't know if anyone knows this but you can get Konig Deception in 18x9 with offset of 35, however they need a pretty big spacer to fit gen1 VR4 brakes, so I suspect on that info that they wouldn't fit gen2 VR4 brakes either, and maybe VR4 BBKs as well. Now there is the WedsSport SA-60M that the Konig Deception is a replica of, and from looking at them they seem more likely to fit gen2 wheels, and they are strong, and on the lighter side, with more sizing and offset choices, but they cost at least double of the Kong Deception.

I just found out about the AVANT GARDE M368. Costs close to $1000 for a set, give or take $100.
