He killed two teenage girls while driving 126mph and texting his girlfriend and now believes that he has the right to merit workman's comp.

Fucking Mother Fucker. Why the fuck is he even talking to ANYONE except dispatch while WORKING/responding/speeding. This is why I hate the mother fucking police.

Sorry for the vulgar language.

Don't make this a "fuck the police" thread. I have nothing against police. There are bad people in every profession.

Any dollar amount he received should promptly be sued for by the any or all of the families of the girls. Fucker. I don't care that he was a cop---it's just worse that it was.

government laws and unions make it impossible to punish people that work in the public sector.

Really? I did not know this. That is total bullshit. Its like the story of the officer driving head on toward a bike going 120+ and stopping him with his car :/. They say that is how you are suppose to stop a kid that is running from the police when all he did was a wheelie. I just cant believe some people and what they are thinking.

I've thought cops need to be held more accountable for a while now. i think it would make them a little more honest

I'd really like to know how old you guys are. Do you realize how many people are in the police force? Now how many bad ones do you hear about? Sure, you're gonna hear more bad stories than good because it makes for a "good" news story to attract viewers/readers. That doesn't mean there are more bad cops than good. Its absolutely ignorant to think otherwise.

If you go on 3si and read the reviews you would swear to God that there is nothing but bad sales there, but thats because only the people with problems pipe up. Its no different here.

That cop should be removed and never allowed to return to the force.

On a positive note; I was pulled over last week for driving a stolen car. Except, I've owned it since 2008. And it's not stolen. My tag came back invalid (random checkpoint). The officer was very polite, and it turns out I had a typo on my registration from day 1 and never even noticed. He ran the tag on my registration, which came back matching my VIN# and valid. He told me if I have the DMV fix my registration, their database they run checks against will be updated in 24 hours or less. Then said drive carefully and have a good day.

Never threatened a ticket. Didn't say a word about my exhaust. And I wasn't in the state my car is registered and insured either.

For every dick, there's 99 good ones, they just don't make the news unless they're rescuing puppies and whatnot.

there are many respectable cops out there that play by the book and i have known a couple for some time. but there have been plenty of scandals in my area like one got caught planting evidence on someone just to arrest him. my girl got t-boned because some dude was stoned out of his mind and ran a stop sign didnt even get a slap on the wrist because the chief of police was there and new the guy. he gave my girl a citation and was set on impounding her car for being the victim! i agree that the corrupt need to be punished but the ones who do their job right need to be commended. you cant say that all cops are bad just because of the few that abuse their power.

I've been pulled over 19 times in my driving career. 4 of those times were by one officer. So I have been pulled over by 16 different officers in 4 different states and the only cop to ever harrass me or be a bad cop was the one that pulled me over 4 times. To say there are more bad cops than good would indicate that I had a huge amount of luck not to run into more bad cops than I did. Thats not the case.

I'll be 30 in a week. And even funnier, I haven't been pulled over in 3 years. Not all of my stops have been due to speeding though.

I've met him. I think he should have been pulled over about 39 times by now. For real. If you've watched him drive a go kart you would understand that a car in his hands is more dangerous than anything Chuck Norris has ever held.

When I moved to the Outer Banks, in the first 2 year span, I was pulled over 42 times. 3 of those times were in the span of 20 minutes by 3 different juristictions. It wasn't because I was speeding (except 2 of those times) and I will admit it, back then I hated every cop because I felt I was being profiled. I was 21-22 back then and I will be 30 next year. I have a whole new perspective on what was happening.

A couple of years before I moved here to a massive tourist location, there was a horrible DUI related accident that killed 4 teenage girls at a massive intersection (http://hamptonroads.com/2009/04/decade-after-fatal-nc-crash-emotions-remain-strong). When the accident happened, the girls that were killed were only a year or two younger than me. There was a massive lawsuit that targeted local law enforcement because she had been pulled over and let go with a warning as well as the bars that served the offender. This tragedy really struck home in this large but tiny community and law enforcement really stepped up to enforce DUI/DWI infractions to never allow this to happen again.

Now that I am older and able to look back on it, I'm happy they are doing such a great job in making the area I live in safer. If I am pulled over for speeding, it's no one else's fault but my own as the LEO is just doing their job to make that stretch of road safer. Are there stretches that I think the speed limit should be higher? But of course. But I don't live on that stretch of road, nor do I know why the speed limit is set the way it is, but it is my job to obey it or pay the consequences if caught.

/steps down off the pedestal.

"This man has no shame. He has no shame when he recanted his plea of guilty. He has no shame when he insisted on the stand that he was not responsible for this crash," Keefe said. "And he has no shame when he files for worker's compensation benefits."

I will be the first to say I hate cops with a passion. You guys say for every 1 bad cop out there, there are 99 good ones. I have yet to see one. I could go into countless stories about how my car was broken into or hit by another car and when I tried to file a police report I was told "it's not worth their time to come out", how I have been pulled over at stop signs for "routine checks" when I was doing nothing wrong, how I've been pulled over with my cruise control set to the exact speed limit then when I asked why I was pulled over the officer walked around my car came back to the window and smiled then said "no front plate" when it's obvious he had no reason to pull me over, then he gives me a smog ref ticket when he can't even tell me one thing that was "illegal" on my car, how a cop lied and testified against himself in court about where he pulled me over then changed his story and claimed I was speeding in a lower speed zone [I was going 50 in a 45, he said I was going 50 in a 40], about the time I was pulled out of my own house and told I didn't live there and when I offered to get some mail to prove I lived there I was not allowed back into my own house to PROVE I lived there, about the time some guys tried to jump me but I had seen a cop around the corner so I went back over to him and told him some guys were trying to jump me and he said "I deserved to be jumped because of the way I was dressed", about the time some undercover cops were talking shit to me and harassing me and when I stood up to them they flashed their badges and threatened to arrest me for standing up for myself, when I was put in handcuffs because my brother ditched me at a club and I had to walk 9 miles home at 2am and I was accused of "suspicious activity" because I was out late at night, and when I explained what happened they ran my ID asked where I lived and told me I was allowed to walk home [they damn sure didn't offer me a ride], and so many more. Point is a lot of you guys say "Oh if you are speeding then you are breaking the law and have no right to complain" but I been harassed so many times when I was doing nothing wrong in and out of a car. Then you act like if a cop lets you go when you weren't even doing anything wrong in the first place, he is a cool cop..... he's not a cool cop if he had no reason to be harassing you in the first place.

Last night I went to meet up with some car buddies at a mall, we do a mini meet every other week and all go out to eat dinner and actually give business to the restaurants in the mall. as soon as I got off the off ramp on the freeway I was followed for about a mile to the mall, through the mall parking lot then up to the roof of the parking garage where we all meet up. Cop asked what we were doing, and the guys who were already up there said they were just waiting on me and we were all going to get dinner. The cop waited for us to get in the elevator and start heading down before he left.... I was not traveling in a line of cars, it was just me. I was not speeding, I was not blasting music, my tags are good, there was not one legitimate reason for him to follow me. I know he followed me because I'm in a sports car .....my DD stealth which is bone stock, no loud exhaust [I even swapped the cone air filter for a stock one to avoid harassment if a cop ever made me pop my hood]. My car is quiet, it's legal, but I get escorted from the freeway until I park..... Is this a "cool cop" because he didn't harass me and run my license or pop my hood when he had absolutely no reason to follow me in the first place? I'm sorry, I think following me and running my plates is harassment enough as I never broke one law. The cop was probably just smart enough to know he had nothing on me. I'm not saying every cop out there is bad. I'm just saying whether I was harassed for no reason or I even went to a cop for help, not a single one of them has ever helped me in the least bit after countless run ins with them. They say power corrupts, and when cops enforce the laws and are allowed to be above them they have all of the power. This guy killed 2 innocent people because he was irresponsible and I don't know what the laws are where this happened but it's illegal to text or talk on the phone unless you have a hands free headset to talk here in CA. This guy wants money so he can be taken care of after the injuries HE CAUSED HIMSELF.... I say take care of the guy, give him a cot and 3 hots.... in jail, for manslaughter.

One bad apple spoils the bunch. It is sad to see that someone can be such a piece of shit. The "Police" are nothing but a name and a badge, it still does not change the fact that if you strip him of both, he is a person just like you and I. Everyone is different, you have good and bad people...I hate to say it but I wonder how much good he has done in his time he served? Yea, what he did was wrong and he should be looking at a life sentence instead of 30days probation.

I plan on getting on with the Police. I have had to wait several years to apply again before my driving record is clean again.

I went to school with several guys who ended up being State Troopers. Most of them were pretty cool and would give you a break. I had to laugh about this one that lived on the same street that a buddy of mine did. This trooper had apparently given damn near everyone on his street a speeding ticket! He would set in his driveway spotting cars with a radar gun! Now that is dedication!

I'd do the same damn thing...people drive entirely to fast through neighborhoods. I have a 4 way stop right in front of my house and EVERYONE runs it, it's also a DOT certified sign so they can get a ticket for it.

Our neighborhood is 25 MPH but very few go that slow...mostly 40 MPH. There are a lot of kids around, too. :(

A lot of cops in my area are assholes. Not so much that they've done anything to me, but a lot of them are friends of my friends and I seen the way they behave. Constantly turning on lights/sirens to get through red lights, pretending to have an emergency and dipping out on bills at restaurants, hanging out at bars on duty (never seen them drinking on duty, just hanging out with friends), even watching porn on their computers while on traffic duty. Of course there are good cops, I just feel that a lot of them abuse power and feel that they deserve to get things because they are the police.

The cop who killed those 2 girls just reminds me of the type of cops I'm talking about. Also I never understood the "suspended with pay" thing...that sounds like vacation to me. Hell I want to have 2 years off while still getting my regular pay. At least they could make the stipulation that if found guilty he would need to repay that money. That guy needs to be shot.
