man I bet he feels so much safer since those airbags are there. I surprised the ecu didn't close the throttle and say sorry you can't drive that fast.

Something similar happened to one of the Hennessey cts-v's on the drag strip. Can't remember exactly, but I know onstar called while they were racing, lol.

Yeah, no airbags went off but onstar called halfway down the drag strip. :p

I worked in valet, and know a driver once drove a mercedes too fast around a corner causing the roll bars to pop up from behind the head rests. I'm guessing the same thing happened here, car thought it was going to be in a roll over, and deployed the safety features (air bags and seatbelt tensioner).

That is why I dislike any of the computerized stuff in the cars these days. I don't want someone controlling how I use my car, if I pay for a car, I want to use it however I want.

I don't mind the safety feature. But an "off" switch would be nice.

I was going to say the exact same thing.

I hate GM. I can't wait to pay off my Grand Prix and get away from that mess of a company.

Should always pull the fuse for any Airbag system before using any car in racing type situations

Yeah, they launched the car so hard at the strip that it set off the sensor that tells onstar you were involved in an accident :p. I hate most of the new electronic goodies they have been throwing in cars. They cause more problems than they are worth.

Funny how GM played a similar incident that occured with their Camaro as an isolated occurence, and now it's happened multiple times in their flagship vehicle.

Fix your shit, GM!
