I can't sleep, so I thought I'd ask...

On my 94 I am up to:
Swap ATX for MTX (MTX arriving tomorrow)(today, lol)
Brakes
Fix various nitrous problems caused by a shitty install
Fuel pressure cutoff for nitrous
RPM window for nitrous
purge solenoid
possibly a progressive nitrous controller
Mount the Data logger where I can see it
Strut brace
Get a 4.5" filter so I can finally install my MAF adapter
Install test pipe...

On my 2 day old Stealth, it's already:
Polish faded paint (done)
small windshield chip
Oil/filter
tune up
alignment
Brakes
2nd gear synchro
Find Trans leak and fix
Find oil leak and fix
Rearview mirror
Stereo
Stereo antenna
Shifter boot ring
Radar detector mount and wiring
Ash tray
Connect washer nozzles and hope they work
99 front bumper
Race a 95 Mustang GT

(I am probably forgetting crap, but I'm tired now that it's time to get up... LMAO)

I haven't really been able to work on my car in about 4 years, only little minor stuff. I have some new gauges to put in, I need to replace the steering rack, I should probably drop the tranny to look at my clutch, I've got about 30k on a SBC DXD-F, it's probably overdue for replacement, but it still holds power ok. I also need to fix a leak in the AC somewhere. I also bought a billet TC and 300M output shaft, never installed them. Hopefully I'll be able to tackle some of this stuff soon, especially the AC, as it makes the car undriveable in the TX heat.

Well, gonna do the 120K when I lay her up for the winter; probably change out the factory stereo, recover the seats, etc.

I'm really lucky that the stuff I want to do (apart from the 120K) is elective - I much prefer to putter with the car - doing things like solving the slight rattle emanating from my hatch trim.

One of the tougher things is keeping my wife at bay when she gets insistent about painting the car - the front-end sheet-metal has a liberal sprinkling of stone chips.

My secret "plan" is to deal with a very slight leakage at the rear crank seal next year, so I can put a heavier clutch in, but pull the engine to do "some detail work" and seriously contempate a color change rather than leave it Firestorm Red - the color is too typical.

Somewhere along the line maybe I'll fix the vent covers.

yea the list never stops. i break it up into 'must do or i may crash and die' vs the 'i would like to do'
on the 'must do or i may crash and die' list is...
1) figure out why it takes my brakes about .7 seconds to react to my foot pushing on the brake peddle. its kinda scary at times.
2) figure out why the car pitches hard to the left when i hit the brakes hard from a high speed.
3) fix the seat belts since there kinda loose and sloppy right now.
4) replace passenger rear wheel bearing. i have a feeling that this may be what’s causing the car to turn to the left under hard braking.

once i get that stuff done i need to replace my interior, get another set of msd wires (mine are arching), fix my spark plug blowout even though the plugs are at .032", get a new MMCd CD for my data logger since i lost mine, then bring boost back to 18psi, then i think ill spoil myself with a unnecessary mod and tint the windows lol.

Hmm. All I had left to do on the VR-4 was figure out why it was slow as hell, and start modding it. On the Evo it's figure out if the clutch is actually bad or not, and if it is, if I want to fight with the dealer (1700 miles, and the clutch seems to judder sometimes, hot or cold, weaksauce). If the clutch is bad, I won't be very happy, don't really have money to go buy one.

New turbos and oil lines.

The worrying thing is that inevitably leads down the expensive road of damnation messing with everything else like fuel pumps, injectors, extractors, exhausts, intercooler, boost controllers, bigger radiator... that I cant really afford right now.

So, I'm buying a pushbike to ride to work to stop me becoming a fat bastard.

Hmmm....let's see.

Pull engine
Inspect crank for any damage
Polish crank
CLEAN block and heads and then CLEAN block and heads
CLEAN oil cooler and oil pump
Flush or rebuild turbos
Reassemble, etc, etc

(all of these parts have exactly 1000 miles on them, minus the block and heads which endured previous spun bearings)

Beyond engine work I need to figure out what is making the strange noise on the front, driver side. Started after I replaced the wheel bearing so my guess is that I messed up the CV axle.

Yes, my weekends will be busy after spring break :)

what exactly is the theory behind polishing a crank?

(p.s. don't wait too long. i plan to have this work done as soon as i can get enough cranks thrown together to meet the minimums).

Polishing a crank removes any slight imperfections on the surface. Imperfections that are small enough to be removed without grinding the journal to a new size. Basically any groove or gouge that you can feel with your finger tip is too much. At least this is how I perceive it. I'm no expert, but I'm always trying to learn.

Install test pipe...

On my 2 day old Stealth, it's already:

Since the car is finally drivable I've started making my list:

This spring/summer/fall:
- Install battery strap (didn't come with one but I have one on order).
- Install low beam HID kit (ordered)
- Swap out standard intercooler piping hose clamps with stainless steel t-bolt hose clamps
- Redo subwoofer (currently an Infinity Basslink that doesn't allow the glass roof to stow and has a cut up floor)
- Clean up engine bay
- Replace various exterior trim pieces that have rubber rot.
- Swap existing Alpine head unit for something with more bells and whistles and more sound quality

Further down the road (maybe later this year or beginning of next year if things go right):
- 99 front bumper, bumper inserts, corner lights
- Repaint car
