just getting out of the shower and was thinking. never a good thing;)

So both my roommate, and my gf jump right out of the tub after taking a shower to towel off.
well I only assume for my rommie as the floor is always wet after he takes a shower lol. and it drives me insane! i mean who likes walking in someplace to have there feet covered with water. I tell them this and they say that is what the bathmat is for.

so. in the tub or out? I think in the tub is smarter but that is just me i guess:confused:

just wanted to see if anyone else thinks like i do i guess.

I use a bathmat, but I still try drying off mostly in the shower. I hate getting my socks wet, lmao.

well then what happens when you walk on the bathmat barefoot or with socks on? exactly! haha

I hang the bathmat up on the curtain rod thingy to dry when I'm done. Dry floor :)

Out of the shower, but I throw a towel down so the floor stays dry.

I run my hands through my hair a whole bunch before I step out, helps with the drippage after getting out and drying off. I use a towel for a couple days at a time as a mat.

I do the "dog leg shake" with each leg as I get out of the tub with my towel around my neck. Works pretty good til you kick the tub.

I generally just get out, grab my towel off the towel rack, dry my arms/hands off, run the towel on my head for a second, wrap it around me and go sit around until I dry.

i dry off in tub before exiting but before that i even take my hand and use the edge like a squeegee seems to work pretty fast at getting the bulk of the water off of me before i towel off.. i dunno maybe im just crazy , ive been accused of it before lol

I do the hair squeegee move, then dry off IN the shower everything but my feet(since the tub is wet), then step out onto my towel and dry the rest.

I always dry off in the shower. For one, it's warmer, and two you don't get water all over the floor. Unfortunately, two of my roomates leave the bathroom not only in a state of disrepair, but flooded as well.

I'm with you. I dry off as much as I can in the shower. Step out and dry the feet. My ex would just jump out covering the floor. Drove me insane.

I shake myself as dry as possible then get out and towel off, there's really not too much water left, and if you only take a step or two and stand in one place the water from your feet doesn't go everywhere.

Absolutely HATE wet socks, so I always fully dry off in the shower and then as I step out, I take the towel and balance on one foot at a time drying them before I step out onto the floor mat. My wife just hops out and dries off, leaving the floor mat soaked and I come waltzing in to get ready for work, step on the carpet, instantly get pissed off that my socks are wet and then proceed to steal her hair dryer to dry my socks

I can't tell you how many times this has been an argument in my house. :11:

Hubby gets totally  when someone gets out of the tub and leaves the floor all wet.
He says it's going to rot the floor.

I have a fairly lengthy process, lol. First I run my hands against the grain of my hair(my hair is very short) to flip as much water out as possible. Second, I do the squeegee thing to my whole body as was mentioned several times before. Then, I slightly open the shower curtain, reach out to get the towel, while making sure my face gets exposed to the cool air(slams your pores shut which helps clean them out). Sometimes I even fan at my face to get a lot of cold air across it. I dry everything except the bottoms of my feet, in the tub. Last, I open the shower curtain all the way, lift up one leg and dry the bottom of that foot and step out with that foot only. Then do the same thing with the other foot. I do have a bath mat, but I hang it back up(have a little dog that thinks it makes a swell pee spot).

I use a 4 step process on washing my face as well. Yes, I know how you know I'm gay. :p

I am all about getting out and soaking the floor and then dragging the towel around on the floor with my feet after i dry off.

I shake off first, then towel dry all but my legs inside the shower.. then, I lay half of the towel (holding it long-ways) on the floor outside of the tub and step onto the towel and dry my feet and legs off. Then I go back over everything to make sure I'm completely dry.

I can't stand it when someone gets out of the shower soaking wet and gets water all over the floor. We have a bath mat, but once it gets wet it takes awhile to dry. It's just annoying.

Great thread.

I'm a bit half & half. I generally grab for the towel while I'm still in the shower and immediately dry my face/hair, then dry each leg/foot as I step out of the tub. I then dry my midsection while standing on the bath mat. I feel it yields fairly optimal results for me, depending on the water temp I just used or the time of day, my shower stahl can get uncomfortably humid. Thus, stepping into the slightly larger water closet area allows me to 'breath' a bit, get mostly dry, and then proceed to the sink/vanity area to do the essential post shower activities.

Also, always leave the fan running near the shower for at least 15 minutes or so to evac the moisture. Then hang up the bath mat, being sure to spread it out as wide as possible so it dries.

Ok, I'm going to show you guys how it's done. I need to take a shower so I'll film it and post the vid back on here this evening. We could possibly put it in a wiki.

Why do you want to know how other dudes dry themselves? This thread is kinda ghey, no offense :p LOL

I usually keep the towel draped over the curtain rod. Once I'm done, I dry off in the shower, flip my head over, wrap it up in a towel, then wrap myself in another towel while I finish getting ready :)

Since everyone is digging up old polls today, I remember this one, and I remember I voted that I dry off in the shower and wondered why anyone would do otherwise. But back then, I had a tub shower, so there was plenty of room to dry off before stepping out. In my new place, I have a little 3ft square shower stall and a separate tub, so now I dry my hair and then I step out to dry the rest. I guess the choices in the poll make more sense when you think about the different types of showers in homes.

I never pee in the shower, just doesn't seem right to me. I know it all goes down the same drain, but I'll hold it until I get out of the shower.

i pee in the shower & i'm damn proud of it. keeps the foot fungus in check. we can't all bathe in a nice american bathroom 365 days a year. plus it saves water (eat that, hippies).

i squeegee in the shower (mind you, the european shower i have is less than 3' square). bath mat gets damp, but only from the soles of my feet, everything else is toweled off sufficiently quickly AFTER i disembark the shower. i do not dry my face, since i immediately shave (no saving cream). yes, i'm a badass.
