Thanks, she is.

Why has this car not sold yet? Someone is going to get a great deal.

I stopped pushing her at the end of November and am just now putting her back on the market.

When she was on Autotrader I would get calls daily, but they either lost interest when I explained to them that it is NOT a VR-4, or they wanted to make payments. :( But that was also when I hd the asking price at $7,900.

I'm now asking a very fair price for this car and will hopefully move to a good buyer on here.

He covered it. :)

I have a test drive scheduled for tomorrow. So today I am going to give her a good waxing, even though it is supposed to be rainy. :(

I'm taking a vacation today, so if anyone has any question about the car, please feel free to contact me. You can pm me for my phone number.

The test drive ended up happening today and he loved her.

Car is SOLD.

She is going to a good home, a good guy, previous 3000GT owner and will be able to come out to the local meets so I will still get to see my old car. :)

Going out to finish cleaning her up now to finalize the deal tomorrow morning.

Well, bad news, the car died on him, I went out to meet him and couldn't see anything noticeably wrong, no idea why she wouldn't start, wiggled the ECI fuse and motor fuse and boom she ran fine.

He drove off and a couple of miles later she died again.

So now he is towing the car back, we are cancelling the deal for now, I am going to see what is going on. The car had been sitting since October. It is probably (hopefully) something simple.

Once i fix the car, he will drive her for a week and if all is well we will talk about continuing the deal.

I'm going to check for fuel and spark, pull and check the ECU, check the CAS.

If you just wiggled the fuse and it started it sounds like a poor connection at the fuse itself. Hopefully its something simple.

I would inspect and replace the fuses first, then trace the wiring. Sounds like a bad connection.

BWHAHAHAHA! I finally had some time last night to look at the car, I pulled a spark plug to see if I was getting spark, nope. Fuel, yup.

So I did a check of my crank angle sensor, no damage to the wire anywhere, all of the clips still holding it away from the belt. So I go into my garage to grab my spare PTU and coil pack to check those, and guess what I find.

A darn plug on the PTU was backed off just enough to not get a complete connection, but not enough to look unplugged. It wasn't clipping so it would wobble, which explains the randomness of it all. It was a damn wire unplugged! Haha

Car is all fixed. Just going to install some OEM fans, wash the car again and get it back to the buyer.

BUMP.

She is back available for sale.

She now comes with an OBD1 datalogger (Shivver harness with palm pilot), Flex-A-Lite fans and controller have been removed and OEM fans have been reinstalled and wired in properly.

Why she is back up, Flysh had purchased the car. After delivering him the car she just died on him after less than 3 hours of owning the car. I went out to him and initially could not see anything that was wrong. The car started back up and ran. About 30 minutes later the car died on him again.

He towed her back to my place and I voided out our contract and returned his money. The issue turned out being the PTU plug was loose just enough to lose connection, but not enough to look unplugged.

Plugged it in and she was back in business. I have also redone a few things to the car since taking her back.

I have not been able to get back in touch with Flysh after the repair work has been completed so the car is back up for sale. $5,900 OBO.

She pulls very strong and runs great.

Monday Bump!

There have been some good questions on the other site about the car that I will post up here.

Whats wrong with the paint it doesnt look so bad in the pictures?

Mostly the paint is just old. The rear is all original, no pink and shines up nicely when waxed. But doesn't keep for more than a month before needing to be waxed again. Some panels have been resprayed and had a clear applied. There is some clear chipping.

Here is the worst section on the car. It is the passenger side fender. I had the fender, hood and front bumper repainted back in 2000 but they used a clear. It has not held up to well over the last 12 years. Please note, the front bumper has been resprayed just a few months ago.

Ever find out why the title was rebuilt in the first place?

The car was salvaged for a side impact first part of '99. The first owner was hit in the drivers side front fender.

The car was totaled, then flipped and sold to me in November '99.

I bought the car for what was a great deal at the time, a '95 N/A with 63K original miles for $12K. It wasn't until a year later when carfax became more popular that I found out about the salvage title. :(

And it's a fwd TT correct?

That is correct. The engine is a fully built TT engine with receipts. The block is a 2 bolt main from a '92 Stealth TT, 9:1 Ross pistons merged with 2nd gen internals and CAS setup.

I have receipts for the car totaling over $4K.

Transmission is the original FWD tranny from '95 with a SFR LSD insert, taller 5th gear, new 5th and reverse synchros (replaced when installing the taller gear) mated to a spec stage III clutch.

Thanks, the car was only test driven 3 times, each time she was test driven she was "sold". First guy put down a deposit, but couldn't come up with the rest of the money. Second guy was the PTU issue, this 3rd one paid and she is off. I always joked that all someone had to do was drive the car. I think she just was waiting for the right new owner. Darn finicky car. haha

I'll admit, I am happy and sad at the same time. To help me with the sadness I put down the deposit to oohnoo for a FMIC for the '99. :)

The money is going in a couple of different places, a portion is for me to blow on my VR-4, another portion is to redo the kitchen and the largest portion is just to go into our account to have just in case.
