So ive been looking at the registry and I have some questions about pricing. I only want to attend the car show and bring my wife will that be $80 + $60? I understand why everything is priced the way it is, takes a lot to pull off an event like this but that seems steep for the little participation ill be able to make it for.

I know it's more work, but have you put any thought into pairing up experience and beginner autoxers, similar to roadcourse? I did an autox over the weekend and I thought it was beneficial. I guess we can do that on our own, but having it organized that way may help get people to do it.

Alan92RTTT

Pairing them up as in a driver with a trainer for a lap?

B-Man
04-23-2012, 05:29 PM
Yeah. Or at least during the driver's meeting have the experienced guys raise their hands so the new guys can find someone and ask them to 'coach'. I'd imagine most of the guys who are experienced would be more than happy to (I would).

Yeah. Or at least during the driver's meeting have the experienced guys raise their hands so the new guys can find someone and ask them to 'coach'. I'd imagine most of the guys who are experienced would be more than happy to (I would).

You would want to do this by run groups so that a beginner doesn't pair with an experienced driver that has to work the course while they are supposed to be driving. Otherwise I would strongly encourage this as it allows you to get an extra set of eyes on your runs to see where you can shave off some time.

If you get the weekender package and show up thursday morning, can you spectate at the autocross?
Are there more detailed schedules yet? I would assume if an event is going on, noone will be at the hotel to register with.
Also, is there a price list for those who choose to register and pay on the spot? Or is this not allowed this year?
If it is ok, can you register on the spot and still participate in events?

Alan92RTTT
05-20-2012, 11:31 AM
weekenders really should not be showing up before late Thursday evening at the earliest. The pricing is based on percentages of event costs based on the days you would be there.

We have not finalized the schedule yet. the ones posted are tentative based on the 2011 schedule. We will announce them when they are finalized.

Onsite registrations are always allowed. Assume on site pricing will be about 20% higher than online prices.

If you register onsite you can participate in any event that has not started.

When was the cutoff for hotel reservations? If I missed it, hopefully there will be some people willing to share a room (I'd chip in). I can't get the hotel info until after registering, which I'm not sure if I will do online or on site yet. I have less than 400 miles on my build so I don't have a whole lot of confidence in it yet. It's gonna be really tough for me to make it, but I'm definitely trying.

I wish BRG was in June and NG in July. BRG would have been a good test. 12 hour trip to NG :( Hope nothing goes wrong.

It's not so much the breaking it in, but discovering and fixing all the random problems that may arise before the trip. I bought this thing dead, dropped another engine in and found transmission wasn't working. I ended up swapping out almost everything possible on the car. Engine, trans, wire harness, all from different models and years. This is my frankenstein, lol. Anyway, I'm hoping for the best.

Think of a car show type setting every night... The parking lots are full of groups of people hanging out talking about cars and other subjects. Some drinking some not. Pretty much a week of hanging out with old friends and making new ones.

Maximal

Agreed with all the above. Very laid back, there are usually a few groups of people hanging out around the cars. You can hang out with a group or wander around between them. There is typically drinking in the parking lot but it's not really a crazy party atmosphere (most of the time at least) so if that's not your thing you won't feel left out.

95gto
06-06-2012, 09:23 AM
What makes the NG great is that it is a full package for motorsport enthusiasts. It doesn't matter if you are there for the racing (one type or all types), there for the car shows (every night at the hotel is a mini car show), or just there to hang out with fellow 3/S owners you will have a great time. What you do while you are there depends on what you want to do. The people are great and you will make new friends every year.

Is there a registration price for just Wednesday-Thursday, or would I have to get the Full Registration? I want to do the road course and autocross, but staying for more than one night at $79 (yikes!) is too rich for my blood. Also, what are the requirements for the road course/autocross? I couldn't find anything anywhere. Do I need a helmet? Any specific car equipment? I've never been on a track or autocross before so I'm not sure what is required.

Alan92RTTT
06-06-2012, 01:25 PM
If $79 per night is too much post in this thread http://www.3sgto.org/f2/ng-room-sharing-8802.html maybe you can share a room. I've seen guys share up to 4 in a room. Cuts cost a lot.

I'll look for the race specs link and post it up tonight.

Weather report for next week has changed from earlier in the week. It's looking much dry'er

Looks like I'm missing it again.... :(

I paid already. If anyone wants to take my spot for the weekender, I'll gladly transfer it to you (if that's possible) and you can pay me whatever whenever you can.

Wow, that's really cool of you Eddie. Hate that you can't make it, though.

Btw, Ed Wardo?

Finally home. I hate the ride but always worth it.

I just want to send a big thanks to Erik and John over at 3SX for having the parts I needed with them and helping me get the the car back up and driving.

First the crank pully bolt backed out on the road course.(I think it must of been my fault. I must of not tightened it enough.)

Then my transfer case gears exploded on the drag strip.

Even with all that it was a great time.
