I just started looking for a 3000GT VR4 in the $7000 range and would like to find one within 400 miles or so of Sioux Falls, South Dakota (where I live). An 800 mile round trip is do-able in a weekend. :)
What I'm looking for in a $7000 VR4 (whether I buy one for $5k and put $2k into fixing it up or buy one ready to go for $7k):
- Rust free; I lived in Pennsylvania for 12 years and don't want any more cars that need a torch to take bolts out. lol
- No dents, no dings, no scratches, doesn't need a paint job
- Interior in great shape; carpets aren't stained, plastic panels aren't scratched up or broken, seats aren't heavily worn.
- Clean engine bay; basically not rusty and crusty.
- Engine in good working condition.
- Under 100,000 miles or there abouts.
- I'm not very picky on 1st gen vs. 2nd gen but I do like the idea of the active aerodynamics.
I don't mean to sound overly picky. I don't expect to find a showroom quality VR4 for $7000 but I do want a nice looking, reliable car that has been well maintained. :)
