We reserved SEVEN 2 bedroom/2 bathroom Laurel cabins @ $149/night and FOUR 3BR/2 bath Azalea Cabins @ $229/night. ***Cabins will need to be reserved by April 30, 2012 in order to get this rate*** http://www.fontanavillage.com/ (Group is Georgia3S)

Because I just saw it! You can sure as hell count me in. This is the best 3s meet (probably because of Cty :) ) for friends anyway. No dis to NG but I love me some BRG. It's pretty close to home too. I would recommend this meet to anybody. Hell DuTTch and HarleyMod traveled all the way from CA for this. I don't think they were disappointed.

Fast driving on some of the curviest roads in the US and lots of drinking but not combined. It's like a 3 day party with family with some extreme driving. It was done in Pigeon Forge, and that's fun to people that haven't been there but it's much better in the woods next to the dragon.

Edit: if you can take a day or two more off of work, I would recommend checking out Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg on the way.

Very tempting. What usually goes on at BRG? :suspect:
BRG is a gathering that has, for more than a decade, been based around driving one of the top roads in our country; Deal's Gap. 318 turns within 11 miles!! Motorcycles and cars travel from all over the country to drive the Tail of the Dragon. Over the years our location of where we stayed has changed to meet the need of our attendees. It's been in Pigeon Forge, Boone, Maryville, and most recently Fontana Dam. The resort is a spread out woodsy area with cabins for rent, a pool, disc golf, lakes (our cabins are by a fish pond, but there is a larger lake on the property for jet skis and boats, etc), a grill, etc. Plenty of parking for our group and the (sometimes) large trucks that pull our cars there. After running the Gap, we gathering at the end for some eats and a group photo at the tree of shame (attached is last years). Saturday evening we have a big cookout/meal that I (and other members help) prepare for the group. There is also a car show with an awards ceremony late Saturday night!!! It's super casual and LOTS of fun! :)

It's a little different for each person, but as a general rule, about 12 months.

I will completely lose my immune system, meaning every immunization and flu/cold I ever got is is wiped from memory, as is my body's ability to fight anything. It won't just be a blank immune system, the high dose chemo I get for 2 days totally 100% kills all my bone marrow taking with it my immune system. It will take 12 months for my immune system to start resembling a normal immune system again. Some of the immunizations (measles, chicken pox, polio, tetnus etc) I can start getting 12 months after, some have to wait up to 3 years before I can get them. And every cold and flu my body got and built immunity to will all be new again. Yuck...

Therefore I will have to stay away from the general public. No going out, no shopping, no gatherings, and no visitors. it sux but it's what I need to do.

We called reservations tonight and they won't give us any discounted rates on what is left, so as of today this is what they have left:
-one 2 bedroom cabin with a queen bed & a king bed for $216/night
-one 4 bedroom cabin for $400/night
-one lodge room with a fireplace and a king bed for $125/night
-I think she also said the honeymoon suite ;)
-Camping for $18.50/night

& that is *it* for BRG weekend.

There is also the possibility of a future cancellation on the property & also you can look up the property on the for rent by owner sites because a lot of the cabins are owned by individuals and they rent them out!!!

Like I said before ... BEST BRG YET ;)

We added 50% more cabins to our block this year than last year, and we're also up from 2 years ago. Matt and I honestly thought we'd have to push the reservation deadline back past April 30th!!!

a word about CABINS::

Ok guys - the cabins in our group are SOLD OUT as of today.

We called reservations tonight and they won't give us any discounted rates on what is left, so as of today this is what they have left:
-one 2 bedroom cabin with a queen bed & a king bed for $216/night
-one 4 bedroom cabin for $400/night
-one lodge room with a fireplace and a king bed for $125/night
-I think she also said the honeymoon suite ;)
-Camping for $18.50/night& that is *it* for BRG weekend.

There is also the possibility of a future cancellation on the property & also you can look up the property on the for rent by owner sites because a lot of the cabins are owned by individuals and they rent them out!!!

Like I said before ... BEST BRG YET ;)

You would have to try and get one of the places that are left or camp. I’d try and get the lodge if I could or like Cty said, ask if they will call you if there is a cancellation.

Well I normally block off X amt of cabins for individuals to reserve as they please, but this year we booked up SUPER fast! I would either pick up what is left on the whole property for that weekend, wait for a cancellation, camp or I could see if there's another lodge that has room for a small block as overflow.

We'll probably have floor room if you can bring an air mattress. I think our count now is at 7 which should leave the living room open as the 7 we have will fill the beds. So that will leave the living room open.

No idea, I havent heard of anyone camping before. If worse comes to worse someone in one of the cabins will let you use a shower. I know you are from TN and shit, but man when you are outside all day it is nice to get some AC loving at night.

Yeah - I even reserved 50% more cabins this year than last year and they sold out ...FAST. The only other option if those lodge rooms/camp sites aren't available/not what you want is to see if there's a cancellation down the road. I also know that there are a decent amount of individually owned/timeshare cabins @ Fontana and those owners rent their cabins out certain weekends. Although I'm not sure anyone has found one for rent...

I'm posting this in 'general' but wanted to put it here first. This is from Rick, regarding Brenda, who was put back into the hospital earlier this week with a collapsed lung. Most of you who go to BRG have met Rick and Brenda and know them. They need some prayers and encouragement right now.

brenda is not doing good at all! ready to give up,its 1 thing after another.after almost 3 1/2 years she is tired!! i will get her back up,but this is the worst pain she has had so far,and it wont let up.this is bad to see her giveing up!need all the prayers she can get,got to get her bad ass up again,never seen her like this before.please help,pray hard.this is bad!!!my mom just passed 2 days ago and im looseing it.we will beat this help!,pray.love rick

If you have a moment, please send a card or a flower or BETTER YET, call...she is currently in the Moses Cone hospital in Greensboro, NC in room 3313. Just got off the phone with Brenda and Rick. Brenda answered the phone and sounded pretty good but if you know Brenda she is the most up beat person you will ever meet. When she says "it was not fun" it means mere mortals would have died with the shit I just put up with. She did sound good though and said she had a reaction to one of the procedures the doctors did with her lungs. She wanted me to tell people she is doing much better today than the last few. Rick is worn out and worried but was in pretty good spirit when I talked to him. He lost his mom and very worried about the love of his life. Doesn't seem fair to such great people.

Anyway, Brenda wanted me to say that she is doing much better than yesterday. I want to say please pray for our friends. Even if you aren't religious it won't hurt to ask they get a break.

I spoke with them both last night. Brenda said it is the worst pain she's ever been through (this second talcing procedure) and Rick is just exhausted. Spirits are back up, though, and for that I am grateful. Brenda is just so infectiously optimistic and upbeat, so imagining her wanting to call it quits it just too difficult to accept. But pain can do that to you and she has had a lot. Thanks for all of the prayers, guys. These are two very enthusiastic Stealth owners and always have a kind word for everyone.

FYI, Rick mentioned that the phone at their house has not been working properly for those who may try to call and leave messages. He said it's a computer phone, but he's been having problems with it. He told me last night she MIGHT be able to come home today, but I am to call this afternoon to see how it's going. The visitation and memorial service for his mom is tentatively scheduled for Sat, if Brenda is released beforehand. Her BFF is on her way to stay with them for a while to help out and we are trying to figure out how to go up and help out that would be best for them but not overwhelm her.

Went and saw them both today. Brenda was up and said she was feeling better. Both are tired and could use a break, but are still pretty optimistic and ready to keep going. They have more long days ahead of them and really appreciate all the BRG and 3S love sent their way. I told them what everyone was saying and how many folks are thinking of them and it meant a lot. Brenda mentioned again about getting BRG, even if they have to strap a wheelchair to the Stealth and they show up in the their undies! (Not sure why they couldn't be dressed, but oh well!)
