power steering sensor

Hello everybody, I have a 95 3000gt sl turbo converted, and my power steering failed. I Know that the problem is in the pump however upon examination of the pump i noticed there is a single wire sensor on the top of it. Mine is broken, and I want to know if anybody knows what this sensor is for exactly, what to call it, and if it is worth it to hunt down a replacement. Any help anyone can offer would be fantastic.

That is for the IAC. When you turn the wheel the idle is supposed to rise. That sensor is what tells it to do so.

Ah much appreciated, do you know what mitsubishi will call it?

Not a clue. Its basically a pressure sensor though.
