I need some help, im converting my 1st gen to a 2nd gen. I have everything needed for the conversion. But Im not to sure on how to remove the headlight bucket. I have a general idea of how but just dont want to mess anything up, so I thought I'd ask you vet's. So any pics or where to drill out the welds or where to cut would be great.

You need a spot weld cutter to do it right. Any place there is a spot weld needs drilled. Its pretty straight forward.

EDIT: Old pic from write up I did on the other site back in 04.

There are 5 welds IIRC at the top part of tthe bucket as well.

spot drill the welds with a 1/8 drill .. this will allow you to drill out the spot welds with a spot weld cutter and wont slip off the spot welds. just spot drill with the 1/8 drill but do not drill thru. pretty simple task to drill out the spot welds

What size does the spot weld cutter need to be? Do I drill all the way through with the spot weld cutter?

You dont want to drill a hole. You want to "cut" through the spot weld to release the bucket from the metal underneath. When you are done you should have round pieces of metal from the bucket left over that need to be ground smooth.

You will drill through the metal of the bucket, but if you drill all the way through the metal under it what will you weld to? ;)
