Finally done with the rebuilds? :P
The turbos sound awesome and TD04s spool fast. I'm not a fan of your BOV though. :( Now it makes me want to get my car done.

Nice!
Where did you get the turbos?
What size injectors?
What BOV are you using?

Bought the turbos from JASONY off 3si. They are brand new never installed from IPS. Thats where he got em. They were still wrapped in the packing. Using Lucas, Dark side racing 550cc inj(till I can get the 1000cc inj in and go e85). And using an HKS SSQV

Bro, Ive had, 13t's, 15g's and now the 19T's and all i can say is....well worth it! My buddy told me he tuned a twin evo 16g car same setup as mine fuel wise except he was running e85 and I would annihilate him. No joke this car gets on it. these turbos spool at about 2800-3100 rpms and then wow.

The only other turbo I was thinking about was the DR750. I'm just not sure it would be worth it.

19T's are a fantastic turbo. The L wheels like what you have spool almost like 9b's. Hugely fun. And yeah, you've made me wanna open my 19T's up a bit too...haha, moar noise!!!:D

Im using AEM EMS series 1. 550 inj, walbro 255(she hums), aeromotive 1000 FPR, dejon blowthru twintakes, IPS 19T's, GT-Pro Triple core FMIC, Megan Racing Aluminum Radiator, HDI EBC, hks SSQV BOV, weisco pistons 8.5:1 CR bored .060 over, forges crank, 3sx custom forged rods, Tuned by CK at UPP colorado Springs, with my 15g's made 465 awhp w/ 509 torque (with a slipping clutch). Have a XTD stage 4 unsprung clutch waiting to go in also. Borla 3" exhaust, IPS downpipe, pre cats gutted, tein s springs, drilled slotted rotors(holy shit thank god for these! these slow me down quick!!). AEM Uego wideband and alot more shit. (oh ya, on the 3rd engine build btw due to retards working on my car before). CK did a excellent job and would drive to my house to help me out all the time.
Jason, brosif thx for these turbos!! I get a chub everytime I hear em spool and throw me in the seat! My friends get white knuckled and pale when I take em for a ride. lol

If you have the cash, DR750's>19T's.

My 19T’s are on order. Should go nicely with my Stage 3 heads, Brian Crower 272 cams, Wiseco pistons, supporting mods, etc.
Can’t wait to get back on the road.

I have 19T L's. I bought mine shortly before the 750's were out. Considering changing to the 750's next year though. I said the above quote because my setup completely maxxed out still can't touch a 750 car with a fully stock engine in drawthrough. Those turbos are very impressive IMHO. I'll never take anything away from the 19T because they are a badass turbo but the 750's do seem to be either at the same level or better in every way.
Sin, wait till you get over 20 psi. They really get fun then.

Can someone please tell me what the differences are between the 19T's and 19Thl's? What is more reliable and proven?

19T-HL has an HL exhaust wheel giving you a faster spool, iifc.

You got it backwards. L wheels are smaller giving faster spool with less total power potential and the HL's are larger giving slower spool and more power potential.
If it is a 19T that refers to the compressor(intake) wheel. The L and HL distinction is for the turbine(exhaust) wheel.

Hmm, how different are the spool responses? In RPM....
kywhitelightning
09-21-2010, 02:42 AM
I would assume not too bad. I can hit 23-24 psi by 3400 RPM with stage 3 heads and L wheels.

Does anyone have a pic of the difference between the stock 9b exhaust wheel and the L and HL side-by-side? there are kits around that convert the 9b to 19T but leave the exhaust side as is. Whould this mean quick spool but low power?

Kinda depends on what you call low power. Most 19T cars out there hit 450-500AWHP simply with alky injection. Look around Stealth316 as it has the actual sizes of all the wheels, exhaust and inlet, for most of the turbos used on our platform.

According to Stealth316. So looks like there is quite a difference.

TD04L 1.62 1.86 76

Wow! That thing gets it on! Nice to see you enjoying those turbos man. I'd love to pick me up a set of 19T's. I'm a little unimpressed with my 15g's, but I still haven't had them over 15psi yet, or had a good tune uploaded to the maftpro. I've got one that I need to try out once the tranny stuff gets sorted out.

i ran 465 whp 509 trq with the 15g's. 15 psi max hp and 19 psi maw trq. havent dynod the 19t's yet. will do the dyno when I do my new clutch and 1000cc inj and gets retuned E85

You got 465whp out of pumpgas? Impressive. Did you have the EMS at the time also? I'm trying to gauge what I'll be able to run on 91 pump and ~18psi if possible on the Maftpro. Knock being the limiting factor.
