View Full Version : Drivetrain bad carrier bearing?
I did some reading over past couple of weeks about my jerking/clunking issue that comes from underneath the car. looks like I have bad carrier bearing, but there are two of them. is there a way to tell if I need both? I was thinking to install aluminum DS, that should get rid of one, right? but now, I kind of changed my mind and just want to fix this issue for now, and get better DS later, when I convert to 6speed.
your thoughts, please...

May as well replace both. Replacing one will only make you realize how bad the other one is. With a gear puller it was relatively easy to get apart. I'd really suggest an impact gun, it was a pain without one. Ended up giving up and using one because I couldn't get the shaft to stop spinning in the vice. Went back together super easily though.
best place to buy these? I know 3sx sells them..
edit: I'm having some naughty thoughts about 1pc used cfds for 5spd ;)

I bought them from Cherry Hill because the shipping was cheapest for me there because they're closest to me.
I knew those naughty thoughts will do me no good.... I just bought used, 1pc, cfds on 3si...
this should take care all of my issues, right?

did you get the one where the seller said it vibrated @ 100 but wasn't sure what it was? Yes it will replace all 3 pieces, carrier bearings and appurtenants.
