Well, the domain name was available for purchase, so I did.
I considered the possibility of the rights being purchased by someone outside the community and decided to act. I'm open to all suggestions for the sight purpose.
I also purchased TN3S.org and TN3S.net so that add companies could not confuse and divert traffic.
We are being hosted by a major registrar, so there are no worries about personal computers or home servers going down.
I will begin working on the front page tonight. If you have not seen my graphic skills lately, they are a definitively going to make the site on par with the the forums, if not, better. :)
I wish Melis was still around. I really need some high resolution photos of our member's cars.
Feel free to discuss, comment or object below.
nice. i wonder whatever happend to florida3s.com...

^ If you two are on good terms, could you drop her a pm and see if she is feeling generous enough to donate some of her pics of us? There is a plug in it for her of course.

Well, since there appear to be no objections, I think the site is going to just be a portal, and maybe a small boutique for identity gear, so that I can buy more search provider options to make the site more visible.
It is not going to have a forum. Yin and Yang already have a robust forum, there is/was no since in TN3S.com ever having its own forum. I find it hard to split my attention these days without another list of threads to keep up with.
Things like local 3/S events will be posted as news.
Jees, I need to write all this down lol...
I really am open to suggestions, I wan't this site to represent us as an online/real life community, not just a bunch of screen names.

web host is being a pain in the ass, there is a such thing as "to many options" Hopefully a generic joomla page will be up in the next hour or so. If everything works out I'll be able to change a to a basic template I've been working on, its all downhill from there.

Well, I finally have the uploading part under control, but the web-editor I used isn't compatible with all browsers. Time to find my copy of dreamweaver I guess.

I'll try and direct her here. I'm sure she wouldn't mind helping out.

I still have a lot to learn. I haven't had to run a website since my last private server I ran for myself and my buddies. Even though it had log-in and account capabilities, this site is going to be much more complicated and better structured.
I made a bit more progress today. Found my copy of dream weaver and started knocking off the cobwebs.
Front end is slowly coming together. I decided to take it one step at a time rather than trying to make it all happen at once with a bunch of broken junk being displayed to the world.

Added trackers to my banners, we'll see if we generate any traffic.

thanks for helping the movement, I bumped you up to edditor. I'll look into the v-bulliten software, if it will play nice with wordpress, I may initgrate it. Me building from scratch was going to take waaaay to long.
My copy of dreamweaver turned out to be out of date, and expensive to update. It turns out web tech moves as fast as cell phones, and what worked on a browser 3-4 years ago (my version of weaver is 2007 I think) does not work 100% today.
If coop can figure out how to post new threads, I think you can too. :p j/k
The store looks like it will turn out nice. I just have to start turning out some shirts to sell on it. I'm also going to add a paypal donate button so TN3S can move towards some level of sponsorship on here.

you were the first gunipig, coop pm'ed me first and was added first, technically, I'm the first user on the new TN3S lol
about Vbullitens, the software licence alone is $195.00 https://www.vbulletin.com/order/
I can use other software that is vbulletin like, same hierarchy ect.. (and it is FREE)
I understand what it in place now is a blog, and not a forum, I think I will add the forum and keep the blog as well. The blog looks nice on the front page.

you were the first gunipig, .
Obviously, but yeah out of everybody Alan trusted me more than anybody to try this place out before anybody. lol
I'll pay for the software. The cheap/free stuff sucks.

If you are willing to shell out the $200.00, I'll do some research into how it will integrate with my current site. I stopped reading about vbulliten when I read 0-2 licenses $197.00 :)

o.k. I did some reading, and in order to integrate vbullitens into the current site, I have to purchase the "publishing suite" that is an additional $85.00 Totaling up to $285.00 I can't really see us putting that much money into forum software. If you don't get the suite, vbullitens has to run as an independent portion of the site, in a default state, meaning no theme, separate login for the blog and forum/store, only basic text settings, limited controls, the list goes on.
