right, where to begin!!!

1997

It was purchased as a Rally prepped and sprayed shell, with only a factory wiring loom fitted!

2000

The original plan was to fit a 2.1l pinto block, modified cosworth head and 45 dellorto carbs. It did make an appearance in this form for about 6 months, but the build was plagued with a missfire, eventually it was traced to a crack in the cylinder head that went undetected at the machine shop, as it turned out it took and x ray of the head to find the crack (hairline) in an inlet port. So the head was scrapped and so was the build!

2005

My father had owned a sierra saphire cosworth 4x4 for a few years and after much arm twisting and the benefits of modern technology and turbo power we had convinced him to scrap the saph using it as a donor for the Mk2! 8-)

2008 - 2011

The saph stripped, the engine reconditioned with new Mahle pistons, lightened and balanced stock rods and pistons, new water pump, new oil pump, port polished head, hybrid t35 garrett turbo with .68 housing and a host of other supporting mods. hopefully to achieve 300 - 350 hp. The drivetrain has been modified to cope with the power! We have fitted a Alcon paddle clutch together with a custom hydraulic clutch assembly. That is mated to a Elite Racing 5 speed T5 dog box, modified RS2000 propshaft, Fostek Atlas Rear Axle with Elite Racing LSD and uprated half shafts. Hi Spec 320mm 4 pot front brake kit, Sierra Cosworth 4x4 rear vented discs and reconditioned calipers.

Presently we have just received some Carbon goodies 8-) a custom carbon bonnet with turbo intake vent, boot lid, and front and rear bumpers!

all thats left is to trouble shoot the wiring loom as there are some funky things going on there!! and get the interior sorted!

hopefully it will be complete for easter next year!

You scrapped a perfectly working and sexaphonic Sierra Cosworth? I just died a little. Subscribing for results.

yes unfortunatly, needs must!!! The Sierra cosworth isn't worth too much over here in the UK!!! :(

i have been working on the wiring loom all week, i have permantly wired in the ECU, fitted a new fuse box, hard wired in a HID headlamp kit, troubleshooted the intstrument cluster loom as the incorrect warning lights were coming on and flashing with the indicators etc!! Not fun but am happy with the progress, still got a fog lamp and Rev counter to install!
