Star Trek: TNG

Been watching all the old episodes on Netflix for the past couple months and I only have 4 episodes left. I remember watching them when they first came out, and every once in awhile I would catch a rerun over the years. However, this time I have watched all episodes straight through (20 years later) and I really don't want it to end. This makes me sad!

I'm going to need to find another show but everything is crap these days.

Usually 2nd gen shows just don't measure up but I loved TNG. The 1st borg episode was my favorite Star Trek of ALL times.

Ha, I just did the same thing. 178 if I recall? I watched the original run when I was a kid. I did skip about 4 of them during this last round. I hate the troi/troi's moms episode and the western one with data, worf and his kid.

I get into doing this, here's my quick list of watching all eps back to back..
- tng
- stargate atlantis
- stargate orig
- battlestar (new)
- farscape
- highlander

I'm on the look out for another to start..

yeah they are awesome, we've had all the dvd's for a couple of years and we watch them a lot.

If you like them you should watch voyager next.

Having a hard time getting through the first season of Voyager, skipped ahead to see 7 of 9 =). Enjoy the old shows but spoiled with the HD1080.

Some recent shows I enjoyed in the same vein are:
Sarah Conner Chronicles (loved the John Henry character)
Cypher (a little matrixish)
Also enjoyed Enterprise (T'Pau!)

Would love to check out Heroes. All on Netflix

i plan to start watching all the TNG/DS9/Voy/Ent, and yes TOS. hate watching netflix on my PC, so it'll have to wait till i get back home & watch on TV.

still have to finish:

seasons 9+ of south park
season 2 of code monkeys

then i've also got these on my list (dunno if they're all available on netflix though):

highlander
firefly
desperate housewives (sue me, i like eva longoria)
silk stalkings
eastbound & down

i have WAY more in my cue list than i'll be able to watch in a year. new robocop movies. NOVA documentaries. it's all in there.

p.s.
star wars fails. lucas has mutilated it. i think the last version you could buy that was GOOD was the original trilogy on VHS.

Yeah, TNG was pretty good. I just finished Enterprise a while back - had to skip through a bunch though.

Strangely, I've given Scifi a break and went through Madmen, Weeds - gonna give Breaking Bad a try next. May give TOS specials a try after drama since I've never watched them all through. Kinda chessy to today's standards, but still good to revisit.

Too bad about Sparticas - would have loved to seen that go for seasons on end.

I have watched about 2 dozen TNG episodes over the last week, as well. Always liked TNG.

Began Voyager, never watched much of it. So far only have watched episode 1.

voyager was awesome, imho--even though there was the same "deus-ex machina" that some criticized TNG for. (spock in TOS, data in TNG, 7 of 9 in VOY, etc). i LOVED the episodes involving species 8472.

i have zero desire to see breaking bad. i'll probably catch up on robot chicken before i even think about breaking bad.

if you haven't seen house or lie to me, you should check those out. :)

Firefly was a pretty decent mini series. However, I wish I would have watched the show before watching the movie lol

Enterprise was the same for me, it was ok but nowhere near the dynamics of TNG. My wife watched Weeds but I couldn't stand the show, seemed like an instruction manual to screw up your life. Spartacus has probably been the most badass show ever, really hope it keeps going.

And here I was with my 30-day free Netflix trial disappointed with the movie selections and wondering what the hell Netflix streaming was even good for. You guys gave me a good idea!

TNG rules, and even though I've seen every episode countless times, I may have to go back and watch some of the best ones again. I never got to see all of Voyager or DS9 though so I will definitely look into that.

And why Star Wars fanbois try to always insert their inferior crap in every Star Trek conversation is beyond me. Why compare a movie series to a television series anyway?

tyla, movies aren't the strong-point of netflix streaming. granted, they do have a LOT of good movies available; but if you're hell-bent on watching the latest/greatest, you need to use redbox or something else.

netflix streaming's strongest point is its tv series. i foresee that this will remain the trend, as this content doesn't have a market anywhere else--outside of perhaps sporadic reruns. they didn't even have TNG a year ago. the content has expanded a LOT. it's also helped that a series is all in a single listing. it used to be that each season was a separate listing. this has helped cut down on the clutter in my cue.

and that's the problem. there's a lot of pissed off people who absolutely INSIST upon the latest & greatest. personally, i think it's a load of horse dung, and have no more desire to pay a premium for new movies than i have to pay a premium for new games. i don't fault netflix for having a delay for new movies, nor for not having them all available for streaming.

where i do fault netflix is the holes in movie selection for shit that's decades old. last time i checked, i couldn't stream "the great santini". wtf is up with that?
