My work is looking for a great person. Just thought I'd share....

P.S. it's on the beach.

Department: Marketing & Development
Primary Duties: The Marketing Specialist will assist in initiating, developing, maintaining and providing for follow-up on marketing strategies for all of the hospital’s customers (i.e. year round population, visitors, physicians, hospital staff). This position will report to the Director of Marketing and Development. The ability to work independently, along with excellent customer service, and written and verbal skills are required. This is a full-time position, which will require a flexible schedule with an occasional evening or weekend.
Date of Listing: 2011-08-01
Status: Full-time


Minimum Qualifications: Must have Bachelors in marketing, public relations or business, along with three (3) years on the job experience, or the equivalent of seven (7) years in management associated positions. A minimum 1-2 years experience in a health care environment preferred. Excellent computer skills. Computer literate in Word, Excel and data base management. Facility with Adobe InDesign (or other design software). Additional proficiency in Clients & Profits, PhotoShop, facebook and WordPress/ Sitemaker software a plus. Excellent telephone protocol. Ability to express ideas both verbally and in writing.

I don't have health care experience and I live far away :( I did just submit my resume for a local graphics design position though. Good luck finding someone!

Well it would involve relocating to the beach lol. Social media experience is usually a requirement for a job of this nature.

This is what I find ridiculous, they want you to be proficient in basically ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING so you could do about anything they ask of you instead of hiring a few people dedicated to each lol. I wonder how many people really have such a rounded education in relation to all of that.

They want you to market, be able to make graphics designs for things, be able to handle the database, etc

I was kind of thinking the same thing. Pretty tall order. If they're picky about getting all those qualities they are going to be looking for a while.
